I never seen someone get zero likes and all down votes before. Congrats???
2D games in general have flourished again thanks to Indies. Metroidvania's like Ori, Hollow Knight, Guacamelee are legit AAA quality where it matters most ... in the gameplay department.
Celeste was truly an incredible experience as a platformer for me.
Enter the Gungeon
Dead Cells
Hades
Cuphead
Little Nightmares
Inside
Limbo
Transistor
The return of the Beat ems ups ...
One of the best indies ... no ... best GAME PERIOD of the last decade.
I actually loved the first game but I never finished it. Something about the field of view just throws me off and makes me sick after playing for around 2 hours. Call of Duty, Doom, Resident Evil 7 ... none of those make me sick but Dying Light did unfortunate. Great game otherwise.
Love this game. Have it on Steam and on Switch. The Combat is so satisfying as is the level structures, enemy design and has decent lore that you piece together over multiple runs.
LOVE Hades. This looks at least combat wise like something right up my alley.
It's all about the demand. Nintendo is the Apple of video games. Yes they make amazing stuff but even when they don't, people will still pay more than they should for it.
Pretty much. Splatoon 1 did 5 million. Splatoon 2 is on its way to 12 million and counting. I think Splatoon 2 alone has outsold the entire Metroid franchise and I say this as a HUGE Metroid fan.
Super Metroid
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid Prime 1,2,3
Are some of my favorite games of all time but they just don't sell that well. It's 100% understandable why Metroid just isn't a huge priority for Nin...
I loved this game on Wii U. It's imo the perfect coop game.
You got two dislikes because ... you said you will give a game a chance and/or because you got yourself a switch? N4G should let you see who is clicks the like/dislike, up/down vote. Watch me get downvoted for this comment as well from the "great" people here.
that's actually funny that you call IGN ignorant for making an actually informed decision this time. Hades isn't a AAA game like The Last of Us or Ghost of Tsushima or Animal Crossing or Doom Eternal etc etc. It's not going to get as much attention as those games. Tons of people will pick a AAA game as their game of the year simply due to ignorance in that they avoided an indie game like Hades and never gave it a shot thus ... can't be their game of the year since they nev...
I LOVE Hades. While I really enjoyed Dead Cells and Enter the Gungeon for rougelites for their incredible gameplay loop ... Hades actually feels like you are progressing with every single run due mostly for because of how the story keeps progressing and the character interactions. Thus it doesn't feel like a rouge game at all but rather a more traditional story driven game but it is a rougelite as well.
It's an incredible experience similar to how Last of Us fan...
That's pretty good actually. Onimusha isn't anywhere near as praised as Okami nor has a true fanbase like Ace Attorney. I loved the Onimusha series personally though. I am surprised though that the PC version of Ace Attorney did better than the non Nintendo Consoles.
Pikmin 3 is an amazing game. One that plays so different thank basically everything else in the market. I hope it gains more fans on Switch than on Wii U.
This game is a masterpiece. GOTY Contender imo. Truly takes roguelikes to a never level with characters/story to match the incredible gameplay.
It was number 2 best seller on Nintendo's eshop only losing to Mario 3D All Stars. But yea more people need to check this amazing game out.
I'm an adult ... I love Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Splatoon, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. I love my PS4, my PC (with X-Box games) and my Switch. Maybe if you were an adult with money to spend, you too would be able to be free from being limited to one console.
Interested in this. Love the developer and loved two other roguelikes in Dead Cells and Enter the Gungeon. Just beat Ori and the Will of the Wisp on Switch (AMAZING but does crash the system multiple times), so looking for a new game and this might be it.
Not sure why you got 2 downvotes without a comment. I just beat the game yesterday on Switch. I absolutely LOVE IT. But it did hard crash about 7 times in a 15 hour playthru. I am not the only one that had these crashes.
Luckily the game's autosave makes it that you don't lose much progress but it does seem to push the Switch to the breaking point multiple times.
Who decides if a game is overrated?
