I would love Resident Evil games to return to this structure. RE 1,2,3,CV,0 are better overall than RE4,5,6 imo.

The fact that people are smart and knows these games are not available with any reliability on a Nintendo console IS the issue. It's the main reason every Nintendo console from the N64 to now has sold less and less with the exception of the Wii.

I agree. Once the 360/PS3 era started ... those consoles and even PCS now have 90-95% of all third party games.
Until Nintendo gets a system that has nearly full third party support ... it just isn't really in direct competition with Playstation and X-Box.
For me ... I view Nintendo do systems as a Nintendo "adapter" to either my Xbox or playstation.
The Wii U is still a great machine for what all Nintendo systems are for ... basically it's a Nintendo "adapter" to go with ur third party machine of choice.

So it's third parties fault that Nintendo used cartrigues on the N64? IT is WELL documented how much Square and Capcom begged Nintendo to not go with carts as they were too expensive. I get what you are saying but actually there are different levels of casuals.
There are the true casuals that loved Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Just Dance, etc etc .... and there are the semi core or semi casuals gamers that are not really informed about the industry but they get they do pick up sports games and Grand Theft Auto or the big shooter but not much else. This semi casual semi core or whatever you want to call them hasn't been with Nintendo for multiple generations t...
What had really happened is that Nintendo lost the casuals and has yet again failed to entice the standard core gamer due to once again lacking third party games.
EA, UBIsoft, Capcom, Bethesda, Konami, Take Two, Activision.
People don't buy a Playstation or X-Box HOPING and praying the next Call of Duty or Battlefield or Final Fantasy or FiFa or Grand Theft Auto is coming ... the EXPECT it.

Nintendo still hasn't fixed their relationships with third parties. Until they get FULL .. not partial but FULL third party support, they will not be even in the discussion as a potential solo system for a core gamer that only gets one system.
Microsoft is the direct competition to Sony but they hurt their brand in 2013 with the DRM, Always Online and other stupid policies they tried to enforced...

Both PS4 and XB1 NEW games get better deals than over a year old Wii U game.
