It did sold very well at launch but judging from Amazon.com best seller list ... it is falling fast.
Older games like Call of Duty and Smash bros are already selling more than it again less than a week post launch.

On average ... I agree with review scores games game overall which can be seen on Metacritic or Gamerankings.
I don't see a problem with review scores atm. They seem to work just fine the vast majority of the times.

I see hell as a tool used throughout history to fool people into thinking that they must follow the "King" who's bloodline has been given power by the Gods and refusing their ruling means those people will suffer for all eternity.
So games like Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 by Platinuum magically lose their appeal to Sony and Microsoft fans because it's on Wii U? Oh boy.
IMO ... third party companies that Capcom (SF5 exclusive to PS4) and Square (Tomb Raider exclusive to XB1) making exclusive deals is bad for them long term because what they are doing is splitting their OWN fanbase and hurts the potential for that brand loyalty that many other franchises have.
But it's their money, and they are free to do whatever they want. Looks like I am going to have to get an XB1 for Scalebound and Tomb Raider later this year. Hopefully Gears of Wa...

Fantastic game ... this is only the second in the "Curse" subseries but I honestly think that the Kirby "Curse" games are vastly superior to the main line Kirby Platformers.

I haven't played it but the reviews are pretty consistent with the negativity.
The reason people think Nintendo doesn't make other IPs is because the sales of Mario platformer, Kart, Smash, Pokemon for example are just so great that it overshadows nearly everything else.
And the reason they make so many Marios and Pokemon games is the same reason Sony makes so many Uncharted games (5 in 8 years)... they sell.
The more a franchise sells, the more you generally are going to get said franchise.
Still with that said ......

Well to be honest the SNES was their last time at the top for core gamers.
It was Nintendo's 1st/2nd party greatest combined with vast third party support.
But that third party support was already slipping in the SNES era to Sega, and then they lost nearly all of it when they refused to listen to Square and Capcom about going with carts over CDs with the N64.
The N64 was the first time they were not on top as a console maker.
ME too ... Wesker is my favorite character in the entire series.
Would love for them to make a game with him as the protagonist.

Shin Megami best selling DS game is 310k, best selling 3DS game is 510k. Not a million seller. Best selling games in the franchise are on Playstation with around 800k .... this doesn't help your argument.
Bravely Default - Published by Nintendo. It is a million seller but hard to count it due to Nintendo's involvement.
Etrian Odyssey sells around 300k ... this doesn't help your argument.

While Ocarina of Time 3D sells nearly 4 million units ... a upgraded port of a very old game ... Resident Evil Revelations was a brand new and finely made exclusive Resident Evil title and it couldn't even sell 1 million.
I love Nintendo ... but it is just facts that third party games struggle to sell on Nintendo consoles including their portables.

Iwata clearly doesn't predict much correctly ... so no surprise.
His prediction on the market, the demand for Wii U, the demand for the gamepad's appeal and more. He has been completely off.
