Yup, same deal with Blizzard, just to a far greater extent. I never really thought WoW was even a good game in the first place, it's just easy for some people to get addicted to. But, they're making a killing from it, so, from a business perspective, there really is no reason for them to put in any effort or resources to actually bother to make anything outside of WoW, their lactating cash-cow. It's a shame, but that's how it is.

Yeah, I've always been fond of the Ninja Gaiden series. The only real reason for the mixed reviews is that it's not for everyone, which is to be expected. If you enjoyed the previous Ninja Gaiden games, I give this one a hearty recommendation, it's good fun.

I just think ID were at their best in the past, and unfortunately they're always going to be. I honestly can't see them matching up to their past endeavours now, gaming seems to have gotten to far ahead of them, and in their efforts to keep up, they're losing the plot, as it were.
I'm not saying they should stop making games, of course, that would be silly. I'm just saying they'll never be as good as they were. Unless, they end up surprising us.
Yeah, the housing market is currently in quite a state here in England. A lot of people just live in their parent's house, and keep getting themselves educated, maybe go to University. Hopefully it all settles down soon, I was thinking of moving, but where I live, in Essex, there really isn't much incentive to pay the asking price for most houses. From what I hear, it's cheaper to live in Cornwall, so I'm considering moving there.
The reason they removed BC from the 40GB model was to make the console cheaper. To have full PS2 BC, you would basically need the entire chipset from the PS2 in there, which isn't very practical.
So far, there hasn't been any fanboy bickering, so there's not much reason to moan. The title was misleading, yes, but it's not causing any problems.
I actually agree with you, although I felt Doom 1 was better than 2 (at the time, not now of course). Quake 2 was just excellent, I just finsished playing through it again :)
I actually find that EDGE, an otherwise informative and well-written magazine, exhibits quite frankly poor taste in games. Their previews are good, but there reviews cores are really questionable.
