Agreed... but you know as well as me that there is absolutely no such thing as a truly "unbiased" opinion. Some reviewers, of course, are more biased than others, but that's just the downside of this broken review system we have in place. 10's just get handed out like candy, and it results in games that haven't generated as much hype as others ending up painfully underrated, falling under every gamer's radar, for reasons as trivial as "Jeff" from IGN told us it's not that ...
I know, it's ridiculous. But... it's just opinion. I never let reviews decide for me what I should play in the first place, and nor should anyone else. Judging from the reactions to EDGE and Eurogamer's MGS4 reviews, everyone believes MGS4 to be a better game than it's being given credit for, and will buy it anyway. If this is the case, then why do the review scores matter to them?
People need to realise that, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter. A few biased idiots g...
This is the same EDGE that gave Halo 3 10/10. Hard to please, my arse.
Haha, agreed, and bubbles to you.
LJWooly agrees with Bob Dole, and would also like Dead Rising to come to PS3. Nothing more satisfying to LJWooly than the aforementioned chainsaw run via zombie clusterfuq.
From what we're hearing, the gameply isn't exactly "top notch" my friend. If it was, do you not think the game wouldn't be scoring so-so reviews?
Yeah, EDGE are pretty harsh, for a magazine that gives Halo 3 10/10. Pfft.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Get rid of it, and get a console that was actually built (-wait for it-) to work properly.
If you don't want to part with your light-grey box of death, then you're going to have to live with it, unfortunately. Sorry, mate.
It took him three weeks to plan this?
This kid was obviously a dunce to begin with, I can assure you, if he hadn't done something dumbconcerning videogames, it would have been something else.
Nor is anything Nintedo do, but I'm sure you have no qualms with them, sidar...
:)
Everyone can have bubbles.
Metacritic have been painfully slow in updating their MGS4 scores, but as soon as Eurogamer gave it an 8, that score went up there instantly.
Makes sense, since Metacritic is property of CNET, who also happen to own a site named Gamespot...
Fricking epic thread for an epic game.
These guys are doing a disservice to Europe... petition for a name change. I propose "tardgamer".
Don't worry people. I can guarantee you this is probably the lowest score the game's going to get (unless Gamespot outdoes them) and it's only going to affect the metascore by 0.2, I think.
Do we even really need reviews to tell us how good a game like Metal Gear Solid is? I think, personally, anyone with even remote experience of the series would do well to expect great, great things from this game. I can't wait.
Still, nothing's going to stop this becoming the hott...
Haha, Bob Dole :D
Can't wait. It's actually the only game I've been "hyped" for in quite a while, I usually don't get hyped for games, but I couldn't resist making an exception for the greatest game series of all time :D
This is old news, but still, sweet to hear :D
Seriously though, he's a complete douchebag. An even bigger problem though, is Fox News, something else I'm getting pretty pissed off with.
Maybe GRID's a better game than GT5: Prologue, then. Would make sense, since GRID costs £50, whereas Prologue is a £20 game. As for Gran Turismo 5, (the full game) it isn't out yet, so no-one could possibly know how good it is. What was your point though, and why would you be laughing out loud?
