Out of all the things, the textures? I didn't notice a problem with them at all, they look great. There's tons of games out now with rubbish textures, I don't think this is one of them.
None of those listed examples had a "beautiful" exterior design though, so maybe the cake's going to break the pattern.

God, I hated the original Xbox controller, it just wasn't an ergonomic design. At least they rectified it with the 360 controller. Although my hands are bent into the shape of the Dualshock, so it's still the best for me, personally :D

I really don't think you can compare Solid Snake and Sam Fisher.
Sam Fisher basically equates to "Ex-Navy SEAL, saw some things". That's it, end of story, theres absolutely nothing interesting about him or his backstory, he's just cool for an old guy, that's as far as it goes.
The thing is, Halo isn't even a good game. So I don't see why a PS3 owner would have to lie about it, when the solution is plain and simple: keep it on 360, nobody else wants it, and if they did, they'd have a 360 by now.
