I played my Wii (when I still had it) in 480p widescreen with component and I almost puked.
It was disgusting.
I tolerated it for 2 weeks and sold it to a guy who wanted a Wii for his 7 year-old son.
Sold it to him for 200 bucks. Glad I could help make his little guy happy =)
TV: 32" 720p connected via HDMI (love it)
Audio: Fiber Optic Cable, 600W (I chose 600 W because according to people who study sound....100 W per channel is more than enough to damage your ears) 5.1 auto-switching amp.
Speaker brands:
- 10" powered down-firing kenwood Sub with independent adjustable cutoff frequency and volume levels
- Infinity RS2 bookshelf speakers with 5.5" rear-firing subs (those are the front 3)

I cannot honestly see any real difference.

Unless you have a HUGE room (I'm talking 30 X 30 or larger), you shouldn't need any speakers rated at 150 watts...
