No they haven't. Nintendo has always been accepting over mature games, just so long as they weren't trash.
They've published matures games for decades. They just don't make them themselves.
Mario is a mascot, not a game. Companies put mascots in games to promote their company and show the company put major effort into the game.
Stop being bitter just because Sony and Microsoft don't have anything similar. If they did you would see just as many, if not more, games with that character from them.

I agree 100%. The problem with the Wii U is that it only attracts hardcore gamers which is and always has been a minority in gaming contrary to the bluster by last gen's HD fanboy's who redefined it to mean people who played their console for *realistic* and not Nintendo(had nothing to do with game quality, variety or volume like it used to).
The gaming media and fanboys have twisted the definitions in their favor, so much that they will never allow that to be.

Mega was already done by Sega(the real name of the Genesis was the Megadrive) and Ultra was also done by Nintendo for those who would want that(the N64's complete name was the Ultra 64) Super, Mega, Ultra and all that stuff were played out in the 90s.
