Starting to get the feeling this game is going to be a hit this Xmas. Love survival modes and the one described here sounds epic!
Nonsense. Pirating of software didnt hamper the PS2 or many other platforms before and since. Sony is to blame for the PS Vita's missteps.
Why does everything on this site get turned into a "when the other one did it no one said anything" discussion. Times change and so do consumer expectations. More frequent rollout of updates is a good thing for all parties.

The logic of X1 is failing because its not selling as much as PS4, as you suggest, is just plain hyperbole. If we're going solely on sales numbers then we must therefore be suggesting that the PS3 was a failure because it sold less than the PS2.
If the X1 ends up selling more than the 360 then can it be considered a failure?

Tell me, if 1080p is so darned important to Sony then where are all the PS4 peripherals that support 1080p? PSTV, PS4 camera, PS4 portable projector...none of these support native 1080p. What gives?
What I find incredible is that when a game does not hit 1080p that those who dont own, or intend on owning, an X1 act like its a completely broken game and cannot be played. That the game can only be played with a higer pixel count.
When I have done side by side comparisons of multiplat games in my own home the difference in visual quality is nothing to write home about. Furthermore, the games play identically.
What I find so strange is that people who dont use the service come in here to moan about it. Such an odd behavior. Like moaning if the power is out in the other side of town even though it doesnt impact you at all.
Obviously both sides feel they are justified in exhibiting this behavior but I wish they would just grow up already!
100,000 zombies on screen!?! Even with cloud compute your local GPU has to display the objects. Not sure either console leveraging cloud compute could achieve some numbers. Not unless each zombie consisted of only a handfull of polygons and repeating textures.
I wonder if the X1 had been more powerful than the PS4 if they'd been able to stay their original course. However, as you say its all in the past but I wonder how it will effect the design for the Xbox Two....assuming their will be a successor.
Personally I cannot recall a time I was so excited about the plethora of upcoming releases on both platforms. In my younger years I would have considered myself in heaven! Now I have family and work commitments all the upcoming ...
In terms of gaming, whether or not its successful will come down to the games.
Sony have a history of releasing peripherals designed to enhance the gaming experience but then not really supporting them. How many AAA games did Sony publish for the Playstation camera on PS2? Or for the move on PS3? VR has real potential but it needs AAA support and not just VR eyetoy equivalent games.

Most of the negativity stems from console owners that wont be able to play the game. Rather than focus on any possible strengths of the game they feel compelled to focus only on the negatives.

Where did I say mobile gaming was better? I said tower defense games play better on a touch screen device. Please read a little more closely next time. However, I will say I enjoy mobile gaming when I'm waiting for the train or for the kids to finish class. Keep a controller in my glovebox for that very reason.
As for console graphics being better, are we really going down that path? Fallout Shelter, Pac-Man, Geometry Wars 3 all play fantast...
Agreed. I notice further down on N4G there is a posting about Black Ops III's gorgeous graphics. Well, imagine if BOIII graphics looked as good as Rapture's, then they would definitely be gorgeous!

of course any of the major players can do cloud compute but its not cheap to have your own infrastructure. How much do you think it would cost Sony to set up an equivalent cloud infrastructure to Azure?

Tower defense games play a lot better on touch displays. You can also use a dualshock controller with most tablets which to me makes tablet gaming a more than credible experience.
When are we going to see a real game with gameplay that warrants the potential pricetag?
