Fantastic. Loved this game all those years ago in the arcade. Looks to be a fantastic update to the game.

@zeal:

I was responding to a comment that suggested Vita was still next gen. Compared to modern mobile devices no its not.

You want the best controller you have to pay for it. Been that way for decades. Just look at the price for a good gaming wheel for racing games....which can only be used for racing games.

I disagree. Mobile devices can support console style gaming when paired with a controller. Also, some console/pc games work fantastically with a touch screen, Sims, Tower Defense, Walking Dead, etc.

The gap is closing and its closing fast.

My tablet runs circles around the Vita. Paired with a Bluetooth controller its a fantastic mobile console. Playing Geometry Wars 3 is amazing on tablet.

Does it have to?

So, basically unless a console has the same or better features than last gen you won't be happy. Well then, time to sell off your X1 and PS4 if you have one. Or, maybe you could take a chill pill and relax with a few games until the OS and Apps are at a level that will make you happy.

Nonsense. Rebranding it now would only make sense if they were coming out with a new SKU with different internals. MS has done too much hard work over the past 18 months to rectify earlier mistakes to throw it away by changing the brand. All it would do is confuse the general consumer.

If we're going to talk rebranding due to lower sales then why not bring the WiiU and Vita into the discussion.

Yes, GT6...a clear cash grab if ever I've seen one. I hope GT7 takes as long as it needs to be ready. I also hope for a revamped track editor where we can create circuits based on their real world counterparts. Full damage on every car would be great also.

One thing I really hope for though...no more plastic tape barriers that can deflect a car. Let me slide off and hit a wall or end up in a field because of my poor driving. Dont bounce me back onto the course!

Taken from the Wiki definition of Killer App:
"In other words, consumers would buy the (usually expensive) hardware just to run that application. A killer app can substantially increase sales of the platform on which it runs"

A platform can have many killer apps just like the ones you listed. Apps that drives sales as everyone has to play it. Given the sales history for Vita I would suggest, as my earlier commented eluded to, that the Vita has not yet had ...

The 360...had to be Gears of War.

Gravity Rush was good but not sure its a killer app. Not like a Monster Hunter or GTA anyways.

Too many leaks prior to E3 took away much of the surprise factor. The TLG re-announcement was ok but Horizon still stole the show as far as new Sony IPs went for me.

Sorry, whats the Vita's killer app that drew in the punters?

3870d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Prove it by supporting it with some must have exclusives. Anyone can make a claim/statement.

The Vita is still lacking that killer app.

Here we go again. A really good read turned into yet another fanboy pissing contest.

Good ad as it points out a current point of difference between Xbox and other brands at present. It makes for an interesting marketing debate/discussion. Sony with its most powerful console vs MS with its most powerful multiplayer network. Each have their pros/cons and each provide fantastic marketing opportunities.

They are great but disappointing how with each iteration they look cheaper and cheaper. Only exception for me would be the revised PS1 which looked fantastic.

You could not release SOTC as it was then and expect it to be a huge hit today. ICO and SOTC were fantastic at the time and made use of what resources they had available to them. I dare say the stories and settings were fine tuned to exploit the tools the developers had in front of them and not highlight what the PS2 was not capable of. You know, kind of like what lots of developers did on the PSP - they kept releasing games that screamed out for a second analog!

TLG revea...

COD was once a great franchise so I was not surprised. Now its just pumped out year after year with the only real difference being that the single player campaign gets shorter/dumber and the multiplayer gets faster and faster.
