You hate the entire PS fanbase because someone wrote some unwelcome truths about your favorite piece of plastic?
I'm not going to bash an entire fanbase, but I will say that your comment is an example of the stellar job MS has done in cultivating a group of die-hards loyal to the brand above all else, including their own better interests, and primed to interpret any criticism of it as a personal attack upon themselves.
Bwahaha! Oh, man. The desperate. It's... it's too much.
Come on, son. Bankruptcy and server hacks? Have you gotten so desperate that you'll try to insert those last two hopes for a PS4 fail you're clinging to into any conversation?
Yeah. It's just lazy journalism, a way to put in little work but generate hits from the bickering. N4G and whoever submitted this benefit as well. I know it runs counter to what I'm saying for me to be here posting this, but I figured the need to get that PSA out outweighed that. When N4G gets less hits off of these articles, maybe people will stop submitting them.
This is an article about TLOU digital sales, not a segue to market theoretical Xbox releases. Nice try, though.
I really think it is for a lot of people. Their complaints about the lineup don't gel with what I remember, having a PS3, at the start of last gen.
@Macdaddy71
Do you not see the budgets on the blockbusters you want? You don't have to support remasters, but why would you take issue with others doing so, many of whom missed out the first go round? It's not like they're ripping off the fans. For once, they're making money by doing something...
@y7jzdgy
"Yes PS4 has more games but they are mostly indies! People don't buy these systems for indies! They buy them for big budget exclusives!"
The respective sales of each system punches a hole in your argument, but let's run with it anyway.
Big budget retail exclusives released to date:
PS4: KZ, Knack, Infamous, TLOU.
Xbox: Forza, Ryse, Dead Rising, Titan Fall.
Big budget retail...
@Septic
When this is the reaction of the audience you're promoting your product to, maybe that's a hint that you should go about promoting it in a different way.
Hey, KNWS, tell me why this very same Xbox exec in India cut a deal to limit Indian Xbox sales to Amazon, if those countries Xbox has yet to launch in are going to be the factor you hype them up to be. They know what we know, and what MS has been telling you: those are second tier markets.
This argument you keep peddling is nothing more than a clumsy and/or dishonest attempt to apply simple arithmetic to complex marketing concepts. It relies on the assumption that markets are...
Struggling to REGAIN their reputation as the console of choice? They never were.
Edit: I usually don't do this, but to the disagrees, can any of you tell me when any Xbox console was the console of choice? They've come in last place every generation.
"(PS4's) were largely not there in the market for many months, so there hasn’t been stock in the market for PlayStation. Right now, I’d guess that they’ve only had stock for three or four months.”
Wait. So the Indian Xbox exec that just cut a deal to only sell Xbox One through Amazon, in India, is now saying that the PS4 has been supply constrained and are only now starting to open the floodgates? Hmm. I can't imagine this ending badly for Xbox India.
It's these poor choices that put the Xbox division (notice this Amazon deal only applies to MS' Xbox products) in this position where they feel they have to make even worse choices to survive.
Titan Fall is published by EA, but they needed MS to fund the rest of their game? Sounds like EA just decided to save a dollar by sending them shopping for suckers to me.
Insomniac: Fund and publish our game, but we get to own it.
Crystal Dy...
Not sure what you're talking about. Sony is marketing a proven streaming service, not theoretical secret sauce. This isn't going to make the console any more powerful than having Netflix, another streaming service, on it, nor is Sony marketing it that way, unlike that other cloud.
Not to be confused with the MS marketing term "cloud," which is that which shall rain down secret sauce upon Xbox consoles the world over, making them 3x as powerful.
Bandit905, go ahead and check off the box next to "Accuse Sony fans of hypocrisy" on your daily MS Talking Points Checklist.
There was still more work to be done porting it to a system it had never been on before. Over the long haul, yeah, porting to PS3 was probably more difficult, but it's not like PS3 owners didn't already pay $60 when the game first dropped, and now Blizzard's getting additional revenue from them on this release.
I'm an early adopter, and I passed on the PS3 Diablo because I knew it would be coming to PS4. $60 I didn't spend then is $60 I'm spending now...
@Wikkid
Amiga-man didn't say "it has no DRM." He said "with none of that DRM crap MS were peddling." Stop pretending not to understand the distinction.
He was able to download TLOU last week and I was able to play on the traditional disk, where I retain the ability to loan the game out, give it away, trade it in, etc. without restriction, while neither of us has to maintain a continual online connection every 24 hours.
It seems to me they passed the costs of porting to next gen onto the next gen buyers, instead of PS3/360 gamers. Makes sense to me.
It wasn't their lie. The media is just too quick to try to rush out a scoop in this age of declining journalistic standards. That's Gamespot's bad for trying to pull sales data out of the announcement of a stat on Upload Studio.
You get disagrees for the amateurish attempt to apply simple arithmetic to complex market concepts.
The appeal of the tired argument you are using is in the unstated assumption that countries and markets are equal, which they are not.
Once you realize that 1 country, the US, will likely account for more sales than the remaining 44 countries Xbox is scheduled to release in, combined, that "13 countries" argument is deflated.
Tried? How hard? As in they had this unique action adventure game coming out, but then had to drop Kinnect support and canceled it? I don't know. Phil doesn't really elaborate on that, after throwing it out there. I doubt they tried as hard as the money they spent on GTA IV timed dlc, which was half that game's development cost.
18 people. Let me school you. You attributing peoples' disagreement with the above to being PS4 owners, rather than any legitimate disagreement, is flame-bait. The article is not. Harsh truths that are particularly hard to hear for those who take criticism of Xbox personally is not flame-bait.
