@Death
You should have had the dignity to not even reply. There is no defending the contradiction of your posts. It's clear hypocrisy. No matter how hard you try to spin it, you've been utterly exposed. Please don't insult everyone by even pretending we're anywhere near foolish enough to buy into your excuses.
You're complaining about not receiving a more robust online experience on the eve of the 2.0 update which will bring the couch co-o...
You're only looking at one part of the two-part problem associated with a smaller game library. Let's, for sake of argument, say they're at a point where they can give away a Knack or AC4. Okay. Now they have to decide what to provide the fanbase. Right now, that fanbase is early adopters: the more hardcore fans. Knack and AC4 are both launch games which could obtained through various deals during the 2013 holiday sales season and have since dropped in price. Hardcore fans are eit...
@Why O Why
I'd really love for Death to explain how he went from crying about Plus being bad for the industry, in post after post, specifically because 1) Sony couldn't profit giving subscribers AAA games, from a much larger library and more competitive market, for a mere $50/year sub, and 2) Sony was somehow training gamers not to buy games (despite the much larger library of the PS3) to mocking Plus on a system that isn't even a year old, yet, because it offers ...
@Death
You today:
"Sony is the one that changed the terms, not Microsoft. Drivclub was released a year after Sony made the service mandatory on the PS4 which was supposed to be for a better online service. Are you getting the higher quality service that was advertised with the change? Are you getting the quality games you received the previous generation? Sony is selling quite a few PS4's and bringing in a lot more revenue with the service. What are ...
@Septic
Because publishers and developers just support the PS brand on the strength of its magnetic personality, right?
@CerealKiller
What a silly, bitter comment.
It's funny you mention stock, for while a PS4 owner may or may not have any, all console owners have made an INVESTMENT in their respective plaform's ecosystem, just as surely as Sega Saturn users made an investment in the Sega Saturn ecosystem. Great sales are a strong indication of a viable ecosystem. Weak sales get you the Sega Saturn. It's not hard to understand.
It's sad you fou...
You don't get bubbles for stating the sky is blue.
@lelo2play
The better question is, why are you talking about European system prices in an article about North American sales data after you were just told the Destiny bundle was more here?
@Volkama
"I have given no stance on whether Ubisoft are right or wrong to say or do anything."
That's exactly my point! You do a better job of proving my criticism was on the mark than even I have. You leaped right over the real issue (that it isn't a publisher's place to give consumers a lesser product for the sake of protecting a hardware manufacturers reputation) to mock the "raging fanboys... fighting the good fight," as if...
@Bloodborn
Exactly.
I have people responding to my comment that want to deflect by playing the false equivalency game, but the quickest way to prove me wrong is by having the majority of the Xbox supporters commenting here declare this is a crap move by Ubisoft.
This isn't just Sony fanboys speculating that a game was held back for parity. This is a publisher admitting that they locked a game at certain specs, across platforms, to avoid...
@Volkama
There is no irony. My comment hit the mark dead on, which is why your comeback is nothing more than the old "I know you are but what am I" counterargument.
@Septic
Spare me the false equivalency nonsense. Your argument falls into the same category as Volkama's response. Sony loyalists, for the most part, will actually hound the company for changes they want, including bugging Yoshida about the light bar on the DS4. Xbo...
@Volkama
What I find funniest about this whole thing is the assumption apparently held by you and Ubisoft that it is Ubisoft's place to moderate and stifle conversation about HARDWARE performance.
If there is one thing MS has done spectacularly with the Xbox brand, it is developing a cult of loyalists who are overly invested in the brand, from the dude-bro who replaces RROD'd unit after unit because he is invested in Xbox Live, to the journalists who...
Xbox One Suffers Worst First Week Sales for a Home Console in Japan in Recorded History?
He doesn't. He was quoting Michael Cain from Austin Powers 3.
@S_D_F
You're trying to instruct a news outlet on how to best spin negative Xbox news, and you have the nerve to take issue with a supposed Sony Defense Force?
You do realize the stores hadn't opened yet, right? It's not like no one was in line because a bunch of people already went in and bought Xboxes, then left.
"By all the comments above there sure are alot of people happy about this."
When comments based on tangible factors are constantly rebutted by comments based on intangible factors the situation demands some degree of "told you so" when those intangible factors suddenly run up against reality.
Why do we keep shifting from talking about the tangible to the intangible? I thought this gen was supposed to put an end to the hypothetical arguments, with both systems launching at the same time. Was online "the wave of the future" a few months ago for the PS4 launch, or for the Wii U launch?
This is the best review of anything I've read, in some time. I read through the whole thing, and I already have PSTV. Gotta love the "final thoughts" in lieu of a score.
