What u pay for. LIVE has been a pay service for years now. Of course when Sony jumped in, they had to do something to differ from the competition, so they went free. But PSN is no LIVE, simple and plain.
If you can afford an HD console (especially a PS3) and a spiffy HDTV, then you have no problem dropping $30-50 a year on LIVE.

Did this guy look at the sales so far this month? VGChartz just released their numbers for the last week in January, which were very good.
And this guy is talking piracy? Sure you can mod an Xbox and this does happen, its not as rampant as piracy once was even a generation ago. Everyone knows the most rampant piracy is on the PSP right now, just because its so simple...and the DS is not too hard either.

That we are talking about MS here. They were making Flight Sims before Sony was ever a console maker...btw, if u wanna lookup the rich history of Sony Imagesoft, which was Sony's SW company before PS days, good luck....their games sucked.
Also, at least give props to MS for DirectX, which is the basis of much of what u see today. The Xbox brand is actually named after DirectX. DirectX 10 is what makes Crysis the best looking game to date, in case u didnt know.
Let the ramblings of a bunch of PS3 malcontents fall on deaf ears, friends. As a 360 owner, I am quite happy with the IP MS has brought us. Especially a little franchise called Halo....and in the last couple of months, Gears 2, Fable 2, L4D...upcoming episodes for GTA 4...

Dont get too crazy Killzone Defense Force...like you I havent actually played the game, but if what Edge says is indeed true, which has been echoed by others as well, then that makes sense. Also, I think they could have gone ahead and given it an 8 based on what they said, but Im not the reviewer.
I dont get that line of reasoning...because everyone else sez its great, Edge has to do the same? What the hell is the point of a CRITICAL REVIEW if you dont allow for there to be differing ends of the spectrum? Plenty of games I like have been lambasted else where (and definitely by many of u...lol), but that doesnt bother me any.
And whats with the alluding to Edge's payoff? You really think MS paid Edge (and only Edge, not IGN, or 1up or Gamepro) to lower the score of K2? ...
Im sorry, but Edge probably wrote the best review (doesnt mean the most accurate...because its an OPINION), I have yet read for K2. I will say though by what they said about the game, they could have gave it an 8 as well.
But maybe thats the point...the review tells you what you need to know, and clearly says its a quality title overall, but the reviewer's personal opinion was a 7. Take from that what you will.

N4G is just a circus, if u didnt know that already, at least the forums are.
Every now and then, someone like HHG will write an article (or blog...is there a difference here at N4G?) so terrible, that even the 'mainstream' takes notice. I would agree with many of u...as good as LIVE is, the better PSN gets it definitely forces MS' hand a bit, to either beef up LIVE or lower prices.

I wish everything were free. I see lowered prices perhaps. But if they made it free, what would they do about peeps that paid their subs already (like me) ? Maybe a refund in the way of MS points I would suppose.
Not even speaking on what the article is saying, but how many times can the same thing be said without any new statements from EA or Bioware?
Bioware has yet to bring a single one of their RPG's to a Sony platform. Will EA change that? Who knows, but it sure didnt matter with L4D.
With MGS4, MG is not a Sony-exclusive game (started on Nintendo), and MGS2 was on the Xbox, so MGS4 isnt that far-fetched (though I dont think its gonna happen).

And thats not to say that there isnt PS3 owners that havent done the same. Or the many PS2 and PSP owners that have had to do it. Sure it accounts for a few sales, but its not any significant number that would actually make you think twice about MS sales figures.
