Pretty much... They seem to be going back to gaming roots when console generations were roughly five years apart.
The Scorpio is a successor, but since it will also play the same games as X1 it is also an upgrade. I do not think the X1 will hold back the Scorpio at all. Right now the games on X1 are huge and very attractive...adding higher res and frame-rates along with insane lighting and particle effects will be what takes those same games to the next level. Some won't care all that much and the X1 will be the better option. Those that do want a bit more sparkle will now have the option to purchase...
So by your logic that means Sony is abandoning the PS4? Seriously, are you twelve years old? If not, stop acting like one.
No...It is roughly 4tf.
Wow! It is going to be very difficult for Sony to releases a more powerful system before the Scorpio launch at a price point that won't drive most consumers away... Will be interesting how they respond...If they even respond. I wonder if we will see a bit of a power creep with this announcement.
desperate? How so?
Why are people trolling over more options? More options for gamers is a good thing! Far too many infant "gamers" these days that troll over any little thing that they would not personally purchase.
I will say something that many will just write off and scream racism at, but it is not. Let's face some facts, if there were more positive black role models in the real world instead of far too many raising thugs on a pedestal no one or very few would care when a black person is played as the hero/protagonist. As it stands there are many problems in real world black communities that spill over to other demographics where non issues such as this turn venomous and even racist. Maybe there ...
Not a whole lot there...it is just a teaser after all, but it looks like the same engine.
I remember back in the day Atari had the 2600 and 5200 systems as well the 400/800 computers selling along side each other. Before the game crash of the mid 80's this seemed to be working well for them with different power and price points for consumers to choose from.
Hmmm..Maybe a future gold release!
Some people like being bitten in the junk... Not saying I do...but not saying I don't either.
Note to young gamers; hookers with balder problems are very cheap to begin with but can be negotiated even cheaper every time! Nothing wrong with saving some money! Just bring a towel.
As long as Nintendo does what Nintendo does well but with more third party support they will be fine.... But they have to be at or very close spec-wise to at least one of the two systems from MS or Sony.
I don't see as many potential negatives on a new/upgraded system release for MS. For one the X1 was the less powerful system of PS4/X1 and it also has sold significantly less units, so less established consumer base to anger. Also, the new MS console won't be out for over a year... That would put its life span at right about or just over four years. There was a time when the average life span of a console was between four to five years. Four years is not all that terrible especially i...
@Errorist76...of course...or I would hope so anyway. However the two new rumored systems should be able to do both full 1080p (and higher) with a constant 60fps (or higher) for a while. If that is the case developers will warm up to them very quickly and make "downgraded" versions for the older systems.
Well, to be honest I'm sure just about every developer out there would prefer not only the X1 but PS4 to have more power. Both are good, but lacking enough power to constantly hit the magic 1080p/60fps mark...That being said these new consoles wouldn't even have been announced if VR wasn't coming out. The PS4 and X1 are beyond too under powered to be able to use VR properly.I am pretty sure all the major developers can't wait to get their hands on these consoles regardless if ...
Dunno... If MS's new system turns out to be significantly more powerful than the Neo and priced roughly the same (within $50) as well as releasing six months to a year after Sony's console I can see it doing very well... If that turns out to be the case of course Sony should be worried. That has the potential for Sony to be on the losing side of what happened this gen. Of course time will tell on all that.
wow what a bitter cynical person you are! LOL, sucks to be you!
Prove you wrong? I think Ms has a really good core of exclusive games. Always room for more of course, but not complaining with what they have and will be releasing later this year. For me there have been better exclusives on the X1 than the Ps4... Uncharted and Bloodborne can only go so far.
