I guess it is easier to just up the res and call it a day. It is laziness I guess, doing the other stuff is work.
I wish there was a better 1080p mode. I would much rather have the option for better frame rate, effects, draw distance etc instead of a slightly crisper barely noticeable super sampled display. I don't know why they always seem to prioritise resolution over graphic effect quality other than laziness.
They should give an option to have their boost mode enable 60 FPS. I hope they won't try to ram 4K down everyone's throats like Pro even if they don't have a 4K TV because it is the latest buzzword. Give an option, either 4K or 60 FPS.
Couldn't there be a data file Sony includes and updates where games known to have issues will automatically disable boost mode when running that game but then revert back to boost mode when running compatible games? To me that would make more sense and be more convenient than having to remember and manually turn on and off boost constantly depending on the game you load.
Didn't they unlock the second GPU stack yet?
Denuvo kills SSDs by constantly using write cycles too. Stay away from any game using it if you don't want to have to replace your expensive drive in a month.
Lame. There should be a 60 FPS mode when displaying 1080p. Downsampling is a waste and barely noticeable while double the frame rate is very noticeable.
So who will be the one to put a pie in Sean's face?
No one is buying Xbox because they are waiting for Scorpio.
Plus they will have patched out most of the bugs in Horizon by then. Nintendo tends to release finished games. Nintendo has this weird idea that games should be complete and work out of the box, What a concept, everyone else not so much. So play the finished Zelda then buy and patch the broken Horizon later, best strategy.
wait for E3
Scorpio will crush all with it's beastly POWER (for a console).
There is more to graphics than 4K. Lighting, shadows, draw distance, texture quality, AO, frame rate, etc all are more noticeable than a bump in res to 4K especially if you sit at a normal viewing distance. As a matter of fact if a game runs at 4K those other graphical details need to be downgraded, especially on consoles. 4K is more important for PCs where you sit 1 foot away from the monitor. For consoles 4K is a waste of GPU power that could be used for more noticeable things.
And all of those games will have crap graphics compared to what Scorpio will have. I know graphics aren't everything but it helps.
Online only even in SP? I will get it the 12th of never. As soon as they kill server support your game is un-useable, nice way to make it a rental. No thanks.
To scalp them on eBay probably...
You Ready For Horizon Zero Dawn?
I wonder if Horizon Zero Dawn is ready? That is the question. Will it be finished and playable or buggy and needs tons of patches?
Power. They will have the weaker of the two systems after Scorpio drops.
@DemonChicken
But those that like the ease of use and living room gaming of consoles may not buy PCs. For console gamers that want the best possible graphics, Scorpio won't be beat. It is too bad Sony played it safe, Pro should have been as powerful as Scorpio, even if they had to delay it a few months.
Is that because they took out so much of the foliage, lighting and texture resolution? It looks like it was downgraded a lot in some videos of it. The lighting was more bland and the textures were more blurry.
If Pro is incredible what is Scorpio which is twice as powerful? A beast?
