It depends. If they were claiming after a year they had 35 million unique user accounts play OW1 and right now they are saying they have (after like 10 days) 25 million unique user accounts playing OW2, it could be higher cause in a year I'm sure more user accounts will continue to add. If you're basing you're claim a year after launch it is impossible to tell
It's a huge potential market. They have the funds to keep trying, and if at one point they succeed then the reward will be worth it (a large gaming community)
Personally I preferred Treyarchs. Black ops 1 and 2 were my favorite CoDs
Most games on gamepass aren't leading to a rush of new subs. A lot of it is filler that probably wont even get downloaded, but it just makes it look like this expansive library. There is probably about 15 games between gears of War and halo alone with all the old ones. Also, ofc it will be on gamepass when MS owns the studio who made it
I also liked the combat in prototype. After you level up a lot you feel unstoppable
Honestly, playstation hasn't exactly been flooding the market with games the last 2 years either. Both companies have had a slow start, and with MS buying like 20 studios a few years ago, it takes time for them to make games (yes, games take 4 or 5 years). I imagine in a year or so games will be coming out pretty consistently
I'm older too and don't have as much time, but to be honest it is how people choose to spend their free time. People say they only have 30 minutes a day to game, but are probably checking social media, browsing sites like this, and watching shows for a total of 2 to 3 hours a day when you combine the time without even realizing it. It's not that you only have 30 minutes, it's that's the time you choose to give to it.
No there are certainly games made by 1 person, start to finish. Maybe after it launches and becomes a big enough success the 1 person will reach out for help maintaining it or updating, but games have been made by 1 person.
Unless of course you are being insanely nit-picky and trying to claim "the engine they used was made by Unity" or "the assets they put in were made by someone else"
Some games they get aren't that well received, but I'd much rather be disappointed on gamepass then dishing out 60 or 70 bucks for 1 game and then being disappointed
They add games usually twice a month, but not every time they add games that will suit everyone's likes. Fortunately there is enough high quality games on the service that should be keeping all types of gamers busy for some time. Just the way it goes with these subscriptions. No one is forcing anyone to subscribe either
I haven't bought cod in a long time but after MW2 I only bought treyarchs CoDs because of what they did with black ops series. Never cared for infinity wards or sledhammers versions of the game after MW2
Cross play based on input is an option for ranked I believe, but not for standard matchmaking which I think they should definitely add
@neutralgamer1992
"For the rest of us.." not sure who you are speaking for, no one is gonna wait months for this game. It's okay if some games on gamepass suck, it's bound to happen when you have hundreds of games on a subscription service, just like a lot of Netflix shows/movies suck. There will be good and bad. There is plenty of quality on the service so they don't "need" quality. They are in a great place with the service.
It's understandable that games from MS have low pre-orders numbers since all there games are put on gamepass day 1. That does not mean that people aren't looking forward to their gsmes, simply means they don't need to pay $60 for a single game, and it certainly doesn't reflect "who won" e3, though I'm not saying MS won, cause I personally thought this E3 sucked all around
When the dev has to tell people to stop playing their game and wait for them to make it work properly....smh
You still have till the 15th. Maybe you could still power through it
@psychotica - as people get older they tend to have less time to game. And with how many games get churned out every year...yes people do want their games to be able to be finished in a reasonable time so they can enjoy more
@shepherdzeMAn - It'll be on PS5...they said that anything already announced will be multiplatform.
No, once they leave gamepass you wont have access to it anymore unless you own it. You usually can buy it at a discount before it leaves though if it's something you know you wanted to play but didn't get to.
It is 14.99 for Ultimate right now, I could easily see them raising it to 19.99. If they do that though, they better be putting up some great games, cause as it stands now some months are pretty bad in terms of content.
