I'd put the FFX battle engine higher on the list. Would like to see another take on that (that's not a mobile game).
Obviously it isn't a perfect solution, but I don't think your metaphor applies to this situation. If Australia already has physical copies in the hands of consumers, I'd assume boxes full of Final Fantasy VII Remake are sitting in back rooms of video game retailers around the world. Square Enix could easily flip a switch on digital copies, announce that due to unusual circumstances they are not enforcing the street date for physical copies, and do the best they can to get the game...
Avoid size 3 fish for the duration of the event.
Square Enix should just release the game to everyone immediately. At this point street dates seem arbitrary.
How is a universally loved game with a 91/9.0 on Metacritic underrated?
As long as developers keep chasing photo-realism, 30fps games will exist. I would love a 60fps minimum standard, but I don't see it happening unfortunately.
Samantha?
Hyped for Yakuza 7.
Some people are going to translate this is, "Bad players said the game was too hard because they were bad and the developers are making it easier to cater to the casuals," but... holy crap, one of the boss fights I played during the Alpha was extremely tough to the point that I would have suggested they tone it down, even as a Soulsborne player. Either way, I'm looking forward to Nioh 2.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey MSRP is $39.99. At 50% off for the holiday sale, it's $19.99. Use $10.00 off $14.99 or more coupon to drop it to $9.99 (75% off). This game came out in August.
@Thunder_G0d_Bane I was referring to the Path of Exile business model, where all content is free short of cosmetic microtransactions and certain quality of life features.
Maybe they're taking a hint from Path of Exile, and expecting indefinite expansions. But they sure as hell won't be free.
Is there going to be a Part 3? I'm trying to figure out when this project will be considered complete.
I'm sorry. I hope you enjoy it, but...
I really wish the featured image for articles like this were actually of the game with the highest advertised discount.
How can one kill that which has no life?
The best part of this is that the trailer opens with, "So, mobile games are kind of bullshit, right?"
Stadia's biggest flaw is that they're trying to sell digital copies of games you can't even install. It would be like Netflix trying to sell you its movies one by one.
I think today's show was a good start. As someone who skipped Xbox this gen, today is the first day in years I've actually been optimistic for the brand.
Having played turn-based RPGs for almost 35 years, I can say both that no, they're not dead, but also that for someone like me, they are pretty stale. It takes a really fresh twist on that kind of battle engine to keep things interesting, because at this point as a player I'm always relying on existing proven strategies rather than being forced to come up with new ones.
