The discourse around this game really drowned out most other conversation.
225 hours... got to NG+12 before getting the platinum and moving on to Cyberpunk. But I miss Starfield. I'll definitely be back for the expansion and I'm extremely excited to see what the modders come up with to make each run of NG+ even more surprising, and to make planet exploration more interesting.
Was hoping for Master Mode at least...
City Maps mod when?
If ESVI releases before 2028 I'd be amazed. See you in the 30s!
I'm treating this like the end of a long early access period. Only played a couple hours at launch and am really excited to finally dig into this game when 2.0 hits.
I've quick saved well over 1000 times already XD
Quick save exists and should be used.
It will be a tough decision for Larian. On one hand, they're still independent enough to be able to choose the projects they want to work on, and if the next Divinity is what they want to make, they will make it. On the other hand, they've never done numbers like this. Even with the license agreement I imagine the studio is better funded now than it has ever been before, probably by multiple times over, and that's before even considering console sales or the tail on this game. The bigger issue with this advice is that on occasion, long rests can progress quests... I remember one moment I long rested and 4 quests failed all at once because I had taken too long to get to them.
To fr0sty... yes? Not everyone will notice it, but people with trained ears such as musicians definitely will.
I have an Atmos setup and in my case it definitely introduces some audio lag... probably around 10-20ms. The game I always use to test this sort of thing is Stray because of the dedicated meow button triggering the sound out of the Dual Sense. Makes it really easy to perceive a lack of audio sync. There's only one setting on PS5 that doesn't produce audio lag (at least with my setup), and that is Linear PCM.
I can't even put into words how disappointed I was in the beta for this.
Developers should be making the games they want to make, of a size and scale that's appropriate for them. A game, or in this case an RPG, doesn't have to have Baldur Gate 3's laundry list of features to be good or profitable. I'm not sure why this is even a conversation.
I spent half of July playing BG1&2. They definitely have old game jank, and as I mentioned above, the crowd control is insanely broken. But if you can stomach the combat and have patience, they are definitely still worth playing. The amount of freedom the player is given is just astonishing, even with the standards of today (pretty impressive considering over 20 years have passed). Baldur's Gate II in particular reminded me why it's often considered the best CRPG ever made.
A few tips for BG1&2..
#1: Press the little red diamond thing. That's quick loot and will show you whatever is on the ground, including the contents of corpses. Saves a million clicks and is the difference between an unbearable looting experience and a somewhat tolerable one.
#2: Go into the menus and enable some autopause settings. Particularly for when you spot an enemy or a trap. Probably also on character death.
#3: Crowd control is more OP in these ga...
It sounded both completely farfetched and like believable evil corporation behavior at the same time.
It's literally just cosmetics and fractions of cosmetics...
No it isn't.
Calling this classic feels so weird to me. It's still the newest game in the old style... hope they make another one.
