It looks like they're exploring SPU emulation on the PS4, which could lead to backwards compatibility.
I wouldn't describe it as laziness, you hear that from N4G all the time.
If the PS3 had picked up the same kind of market share the PS2 did, it'd be a different story. Sony did not deliver enough to justify the investment from developers.
Games journalism is essentially just playing along to viral advertising campaigns.
Not true - the slides refer to the approximate sales of each game, not the target.
The target is not given - targets are not "approximate", they're definite.
This is awesome news, the more open the platform, the better.
With digital distribution, we're no longer worried about store space - Sony just need the right UI so that discoverability is easy.
We've seen Apple and PC do very well with more open systems. Time for the consoles to join in too.
This is why PC is best. Didn't go for the deal myself though, I've just got too many other games that I've not caught up with yet - so will probably wait for a Bioshock Infinite GOTY edition with all the DLCs.
You should be able to sell your TF2 skins on the marketplace after a while though.
The TF2 Deus Ex skins are worth more than a copy of Bioshock 2. It's difficult to forecast how much items will be worth though.
There's Philips' Ambilight which is similiar.

So after the pre-order window is up, the game goes up in price?
Semantics.
His point is that Nintendo already own the handheld market, so its rubbish for everyone else.
Pre-order discounts aren't exactly new.
How can you possibly write an article about why early access is a bad idea without mentioning smash hit early release successes like Minecraft and Counter-Strike?
There is no way the Sony of today has the same RnD budget as the Sony that launched the PS3.
According to mandf, the internet is piracy. Maybe you should stay offline?

edit - lol at the below. No longer mentions emulation. I'm going to mention, "you should stay offline" again though.
You'll have to go online again though, so your next Xbox can keep track of all those licenses.
Mandf - "A game is liscensed to a console to be used on said console not on any device you so choose."
Which is exactly why Mandf is most looking forward to the next Xbox, with its always on DRM.
It's not about buying games. It's about buying access to a service, right?
The first game on Early Access is Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Wait, you think that Eidos patching the previous versions of the game would be a bad thing?
They should do a Human Revolution Complete pack with all the DLC and updated boss fights in, couple that with a Steam sale and watch the money flow in. The Wii U can keep it's plastic pad.
I've not bothered with RE6 or L4D2, but the PC is where it's at.
Sure, the port takes a bit longer, but if you buy the game - it's cheaper to start off with, you get Resident Evil 5 and all the multiplayer DLCs for free. And now there's the crossover stuff too.

It's not actually 8 core. It's two different quad core processors, it can only use one of them at a time.
One is fast and powerful, the other is slow but power efficient. It's about saving power when the phone is idle.
I think Ouya's going to be more of a streaming box than anything else. Nothing wrong with that at the price it's going for.
