90% of the games created for pc will be bound by consoles as the economics of game creation dictats what can get made. The next gen systems will absolutely impact the future of pc gaming.
And that my friends is why Sony is the market leader.
Shu Rocks!
I love the idea of this game but having actually played the demo it left a lot to be desired. Visually it was pretty.
In any case always sorry to hear for the developers. No matter what the state of the project must be hard to have your work thrown away like that.
Qoute from article "We shouldn’t be surprised when the confinement kids find themselves in today often yields behaviors we don’t understand and don’t like. Games satisfy psychological needs other areas of life are not satiating."
In the context of a service based platform these acquisitions make a lot of sense and I'd I expect even more by the middle of next gen. We may even see a buy up of larger third party publishers like a capcom or konami. Microsoft is all in on the subscription model and, like Netflix before it, original exclusive content is what sells subscriptions.
Microsoft racing to the bottom all by itself.
This is clearly targeting the mass market, for customers who don't care as much about fidelity or perfect performance, although accessibility (like the Switch has shown) can be a draw for more core gamers too.
But if they are streaming from blades loaded with X1 parts why not have X1X parts, or better yet high end next gen pc parts with raytracing and all the next gen bells and whistles. Stream us some next gen games not possible on our home console and the service wil...
The next gen will likely be 'won' based on who has the superior business model. No way Microsoft matches Sony's first party output anytime soon. But they might not have to to gain ground.
All evidence points to Microsoft releasing a family of devices vs. a traditional single console. The next x-box will likely be service based with a range of devices allowing access to the content including a dedicated streaming box, a dedicated high end box, and whatever the he...
The power of the grease proof controller will propel them to victory.
Attach rates naturally decline as the install base grows. This is well known in the industry and for him to brag about it is 100% pure marketing BS. The first 40 million customers will always be more active and purchase more games than the following 40 million.
That's like bragging that my 10 million customers are more active than your 100 million; like with the Switch attach rates. Yeah no shit they are. But what Mr. Dishonest Greenburg doesn't mention is that they...
This entire crossplay nonsense is just ridiculous and needs to stop. This isn't about what you want. It's about business.
Sony will NEVER strengthen the position of it's competitors by allowing them a back door into their ecosystem. THEY WILL NEVER DO THIS! EVAR!!! IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN! AND THEY ARE SMART FOR NOT DOING IT!
This doesn't make them 'arrogant' and it's not 'embarrassing' or any other human characte...
Yes Please!
Awesome!
I'll pay hard cash for that Super Metroid 3D!
Yep!
Pretty sure the name is a reference to i dream of jeanie.
Yeah until they ruin steam
Don't see any new World of Warcraft type situations in the near future, where a massive player base stays engaged for so long. These types of games used to be unique but with every other developer following the dollars the MMO, Free to play, and games as service type experiences are just like the rest of the market; hit driven and subject to the fickle tastes of gamers.
The chance of getting a large player base that doesn't move on to the next best thing is going to...
The word 'be the' (as in singular) new exclusive is what x-box needs is flawed thinking.
What X-box needs is a steady stream of first party content releases spread out across each year representing a wide variety of experiences to a diverse demographic of players.
Sea of Thieves is one game.
They don't need to. Play anywhere or some iteration of the Xbox platform will expand to mobile the second it's viable (2-3 years is my guess).
Article title correction-
"It's the worst time to buy a PlayStation 4 and an even worse time to buy an X-box."
