Anyway...I'd still wait to get the PS3 with the rumble controllers...perhaps the price cut is earlier than expected (ie November) to clear out that inventory?

Perhaps what he is saying is that individual xbox consoles will no longer be sold at a loss.

Xbox comes with a 1 year warranty ... the 3 year is only and specifically concerning red ring of death..nothing else is covered by the 3 year warranty.

MS is paying back the cost of the repairs.
All Xbox's will continue to offer a 1 year warranty. There is a specific 3 year warranty for only the ring of death issue.
You will have a 1 year warranty except for ring of death issues which are covered by 3 years.
The 3 years covers new or from time of purchase for current owners.
If you paid for a repair in the last 3 years...MS pays you back.
