Look at MS claiming 10 million SOLD in Nov 2006 when it is verified by their own docs that they had only sold 6 million by that time. Their TOTAL shipped by June 2007, again according to MS's own docs, is only 11 million.

You are getting format (the disc and player) confused with codec when speaking of mp3, ogg, etc...BD and HD players can already handle different codecs...but consumers need one FORMAT in my opinion...have all the codecs you want!

Why do the console makers decide? If all the console makers agreed that they were ok with AO games what would the ramifications be to their bottom line? I can't imagine it would be a negative for them.
For instance....All DVD players play XXX movies but I don't see mom and pop America protesting against the machines so why would they in a game's case?
