All new MODELS seeking CERTIFICATION after Oct 2007 must be compliant...any model already 1. on the market or 2. certified but not yet on the market does NOT have to be 1.1 capable.
In other words...there are going to be 1.0 players being picked up this Xmas by consumers that will not be 1.1 compliant.
1.1 requirements are:
64 KB of built in persistent memory required
256 MB of persistent memory capability required
outlining support for text based subtitles required
SD PiP decoding required
secondary audio decoding required
no internet capability required
No players sold before Oct 2007 have these requirements except for the PS3. AFAIK.
@Grizz below...
What I meant is that the PS3 has the requir...
This should have specified that this was a VC title of a TurboGrafx 16 game that is 15 years old.

on the DS version thanks... :)
If COD is basically online only I might aswell wait to see how SOCOM C works out before committing my $60
With a single player that short I may wait for Socom Confrontation and compare.
Yes...they are spending alot of jack for MMO...but according to them it is UNRELATED to the elderscrollsonline registration...that is just an intellectual property defense. The 300 million is for a new ip.
Or so they say.
they registred elderscrollsonline to prevent others from doing so...not because a MMO is in the works.
I thought Wii fans were about the gameplay not the graphics. Until we see how well this plays I can't see why Wii fans would be disappointed.
1.1 is only mandated for any NEW player seeking BD certification after Oct 31.
All existing players already certified can continue to carry the BD name and logo and they DO NOT need to upgrade to 1.1.
Though it is common sense that SONY will do this for the PS3 it does NOT have to be done on Nov 1 and it does NOT have to be done at all. The 40GB is not a new machine...it was certified months ago.
for THIS YEAR it would seem to indicate that they are expecting to SELL alot more PS3s than they originally planned..since they are loosing money on each.
From a short term 1 year perspective this news is actually positive!
you bought the Eye with FULL KNOWLEDGE about what games were currently available and now you are complaining?
You've had it for less than 2 weeks...return it if you don't like waiting.
I'm a non hacker who thinks developers should get paid for good work and I can afford to do so.
shouldn't the GOTY go to something like this that is pushing a console to new levels? It has to be fun and accessible and all that but I think a game like this deserves some consideration no?
There are 25 million + people that have a PSP and if you are not one of them you should try it...it is an excellent piece of hardware with more highly rated games than the other current gen handheld.
Anyway...GOTY is a bit much but it has won best Multiplayer PSP game at E7 in demo mode.
is that most of us are defining the Wii as Next Gen when we know the Gamecube or PS2 or Xbox could have easily handled it.
As for a link:

and

Any success WW has had is built on the back of PC gamers...his ongoing ports and rehashes to consoles have had very little impact.
...
As for the nextgenness of the Wii...most of you are focusing on the controller ...well the Wiimote was designed originally for the Gamecube.
who had ribs removed so you could blow yourself?
Did they pick this guy up on a flight back from Thailand or something.
I'll spout the same stuff for 1/2 the price.
