I can go months without my consoles and hand-helds (it's painful but doable) but I must have my gaming laptop.
Not gay, bi, or curious myself but it would be interesting to see more LGBT characters in video games. What really annoys me is that most gay men in entertainment are portrayed as the "hollywood metrosexual" type. It's like back then when most blacks roles in video games and movies were "ghetto" roles.
List is in a fucked up order and they left out some big games like KH: Birth by Sleep.
FFXIII is in the same boat as ME2 for me. I'm disappointed with the direction the devs took for these games, but I enjoy playing them nonetheless.
Like people have already said, Alan Wake is only the list because it was super hyped up and didn't deliver. Well not only did it not deliver, but it's visuals were average even for an Xbox360 game.
Left 4 Dead should've been last on the list imo. Not saying it's a bad game, but the others just seem to bring more to the table.
A large number of people were disappointed with the change from ME1 to ME2 and now it looks like the same will happen with ME2. Bioware is still one of my fav devs, but lately it seems as if all they care about is mass appeal and making their games accessible to as large an audience as possible.
Agreed, well I wouldn't say it's gonna fail that bad but it is just a fad.
Article shouldn't have been a Top 10 list. Author did make some valid points but most gamers don't even think about things like this when gaming.
Piracy isn't what killed the Dreamcast. Peter Moore killed the Dreamcast, well at least in the states. Wasn't it still being supported and having games released for it in Japan long after it lost support in the states?
Blaming the internet for most of these issues would be like blaming guns for killing people when it's the person pulling the trigger who's at fault.

I'm pretty sure PS3s were stable and reliable while they still had support for Linux. It's only a matter of time really before someone pulls it off. If history repeats itself we'll have PS3 emulators on the PC in a maximum of 7 years down the line.

Bad generalization. Me and most of my friends love turn-based games. Sports games and shooters may have become mainstream in the states, but that doesn't mean all the traditional turn-based jrpg fans just disappeared. If more good console turn-based games were made I'm pretty sure people would buy them but instead we're stuck with only having these types of games for the psp and ds.
Screw censorship of any kind.
I'm pretty sure Metal Gear Solid, GTA San Andreas, and Dues Ex can be considered some of the greatest games of all time, but this is Old Wizard so I pretty much expected the list to be as it is.
It's like some people are still living in the 18th century. Seems like people forget we're born naked. Either that or they let the "norms" of society dictate how they live.
It's either gonna be ME2, Starcraft 2, or GoW3. GT5 has a huge fanbase but games like racing sims and mmos usually don't win GoTY awards. It's the reason WoW doesn't get GoTY awards like UC2 does even though it has such a huge fanbase.
There is a purpose for it. It's called depth. The deeper a character's story and background is the better the game is imo.
