You're acting like you're the only one that appreciates good gameplay. I love great games, and you're right in saying that the gameplay and story and everything else is important, but that doesn't stop framerate being important as well.
Games like Donkey Kong,GT,Galaga and all the other games you mentioned still had to run at a certain framerate to be enjoyable.

No they certainly do not.
15fps is just horrible, whether it's consistant or not. If a game is consistantly 30fps then it's not such a big deal, but in an ideal world every game on console would run at 60fps and be all the better for it.
But we don't live in an ideal world, so 30fps is the standard.
My most wanted ps3 game this year, it's looking really good.
