I agree with you but I actually hated the flying. It felt like "hey this is our main feature, use it. USE IT!"
Felt so forced in a gameplay mechanic. I managed to get through 45mins in the alpha and quit the game. I really doubt I'd bother with this when it releases.
From the E3 footage it looked like it'll be a tactic shooter, sneak up and take something down with bombs and other cool things.

The switch is a great console, but it's an expectation of limitations console.
People honestly can't expect things like this to come to the switch? Maybe a one off, but not every release title will make it to the switch.

It's a shame he got punished for this game, as the game is 'alright' and nothing special. I would be pretty pissed to lose other games because I shared the content of the Alpha, the trade off wouldn't be worth it (I've played Ps4 alpha and the game isn't for me).

Tried the alpha and about 45mins in I was bored. The game doesn't really do much for me.
Flying seems to be forced, like in your face forced. World was looking nice but spent a good chunk flying A to B, killing waves of mobs, kill objective, mobs despawn and move on.
Feel like if the game was a tad slower it would've felt more solid. Controlls feel floaty and just reminded me of a poor man's borderlands.

Indies on the switch are so hit and miss. The good ones are welcome, but the switch has became a victim to shovel ware. Which is why I am leaning against most indie games without a good following if reviews.
Borderlands 3 or handsome jack collection on the switch... Or BOTH! I'd be happy with both!
Make it you have to weaken the Pokémon and play the catch mini game. It because eots 90% solo game. You could actually have an option for classic catch or new catch systems.
Thing that annoyed me the most was the catch mechanic was a heads or tails game. No matter about using Berry's or what not. IT felt I had 0 control on how to influence the catch of that new Pokémon.
Also battling random trainers yielded less experience than catching a Pokémon..... Like really?
If this is true. I'll be done with Pokémon if they don't fix the whole let you battle wild Pokémon. The catch to level up your team was boring and felt like you were playing a crap mini game for 90% of your time on Pokémon let's go Pikachu.
I actually sold my copy off after 3 badges because I couldn't bare it anymore.
I got the Fallout 4 collectors thinking that it may be decent when it arrives. After opening it and being disappointed by the cheap looking toy, I ended up selling it shortly after, and sold many other collectables because it highlighted the cheapness in a few others I had (the Doom figure for example).
Now, because I can't guarantee a decent build, I've stopped buying collector items. The only one I'd consider is Last of Us 2.
Didn't even know this had released. Enjoyed the 2nd one, first game was a tad slow for me. Wasn't bothered for the 3rd but thought it was a 2019 game.
Hope not, the "let's go" treatment is crap. Games look amazing, but gameplay is fairly rubbish by the let's go mechanics.

The catching mechanic that's taken from Pokémon go mobile feels more like a heads or tails mini game with nothing the player can do to change the luck of the draw.
The way to level up your Pokémon felt shallow also. Catch Pokémon gain a lot of experience. Duel trainers get less experience... Didn&...
They add challenges that you may not normally have done..
The game is ruined by the "go mechanic" they should've kept the old battle wild Pokémon and then used the motion controls to catch them (truthfully I hate that bit also).
What they made is a decent remake of Yellow but it's ruined by the issue above.
