@Foxrot, Lost Odyssey was cool but there were way better batlle systems out there.
Ni No Kuni
Resonance of Fate
Tales of
Eternal Sonata
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
etc...
Your standard turn based RPG doesn't do much, unless it adds some elements other systems.
Shin Megami Tensei mixed a turn based battle system with you standard TRPG system. Made it better.
Resonance of Fate ...
They were. The older Final Fantasys were the best but the mechanics were outdated.
So Square Enix is dying because of the loss they reported 6 months before the release of their MMO and recorded profits that followed?
This whole article is based off of outdated information.
Final Fantasy is still very much alive and kicking. No matter what you want to believe.
How about showing me some data that proves that move has worked for companies in the past? Give me a couple of companies that used to make gaming hardware, went multiplatform, and haven't been in any financial crisis since the move?
As pointed out before, Nintendo makes a bulk of it's money from hardware sales, they will lose money by cutting hardware out. There isn't any guarantee going multiplatform will make that back. You aren't considering the even bigger...
They actually were looking into phones back in like 2004. I wonder what happened to those plans...
Nope, it's not going to happen.
Didn't work for SEGA or Atari. I'm sure they thought going multiplatform was goingto help them.
"use every app except AP, and Netflix, and online MP."
False.
You need gold to access a large amount of apps.
Netflix
Twitch
Crackle
Internet Explorer
Skype
Machinima
Blinkbox
Etc..
Most of the apps are behind a pay wall. Most of which are do not have a pay wall on other devices.
Why do I have to pay Microsoft to watch movies on a service I'...
A lot of people. I only get + as I see fit. Most of the time I play single player games, so it wouldn't be of any use to me. I'm getting into games like FF: ARR and I might play this.
Having to pay more than I have to, just to play these two game, would be crazy and unacceptable.
How to let your series get licensed and made into a crappy series of games?
That's it? That the significant contribution to the mobile world?
Microsoft putting Halo on their own Windows devices. That nothing compared to Nintendo putting games on IPads and Tablets. That game is still exclusive to Microsoft devices.
None of the big three is pushing for anything significant on mobile devices.
Hmm.. I think I'll watch this a couple of more times... for... uh...analysis.
You do know that they were making mobile games back in the PS2 days, right?
Look up Before Crisis: Final Fantasy 7.
It was a prequel to Final Fantasy 7 that was exclusive to mobile platforms. Only reason why nobody has heard of it was because it was only in Japan.
They've been doing this for longer than you think.
You're asking Square to drop one of the biggest markets in Japan?
I don't care if they release mobile games. As long as they keep console releasing coming. People don't seem to understand that they have multiple studios and development teams that are specialized in this area directly. It's not like they're pulling developers off of your favorite game and making them work on mobile games.
"Well wouldn't he be playing the demo on his 3DS or WiiU in the first place?"
Nope. From what I read in an interview that they had months ago about this subject, these things will be for mobile audiences only. They are not like the demos you're going to find on WiiU or 3DS. They're going to be a whole lot smaller.
Things are also a lot easier to find on mobile than they are on eshop.
But what about a kid that already has a WiiU or 3DS. He might want that game after he plays the minigame/demo.
You have to look at it in more ways than one.
Shadowrunner, obviously the collectors edition is going to cost more. Collectors Editions of any game always cost more than normal price. It's because they give you more than just the game.
Yes, but it's not 60 bucks. That was my point.
Wasn't Thief: Deadly Shadows on the original Xbox?
