The DreamCast was a failure in Japan but did extremely well in the west. SEGA even had problems keeping up with demand.
Not only that but what about when they shutdown services for that system? How will you re-download your games if your HDD gets corrupted? 100s of dollars down the drain.
There is also the problem of not enough space on the HDD, games are getting up as big as 60GBs nowadays.

Steam is a single service that is ongoing. Steam users don't have to change to a new Steam every 5-7 years. They also don't have to worry about no BC.

That would be the dumbest thing ever. There are huge problems with digital games that needs to get addressed before anyone thinks of making a digital only console.

Even if Nintendo was open to being bought, Microsoft would be the worst choice.
Why would you want them to be bought by the company that tried to strip away your rights, railroad you with outrageous fees, restrict how you game and how long your console could be offline, and charge you for services you already pay for?
Can't wait to see how Hyrule Warriors turns out! According to the Japanese trailer, it's releasing in Japan during summertime.

This months' was probably the best one. I already own Sleeping Dogs (which was a terrific game) but I never played LC: GOL (Also a terrific game).

I guess Nintendo doesn't feel the need to bump up the resolution. At least it's 60fps.
I think that their idea of licensing their characters out will help them with that. Nintendo themselves can't keep the system afloat with first party games, there is no way. But it they license out their characters, they can get more games out and most likely revive some of their older franchises people have been asking for.

The thing about it is they probably tried to aim to high with the court case. They can't be sued because of the disclaimers that warn you that you may or may not be able to get online and stated when online would launch. Because of that disclaimer, it's assumed that you read it and already know what to expect.
