I picked it up on monday and I LOVE it. I'm a huge Metallica fan and one of 'those' guys that Yahtzee refers to in his GH3 review. I'm the guy that plays alone..
It certainly can't break into the ultra-casual/party-game market that loves Rock Band. But for anyone who plays GH3 on expert, this is the BEST music game ever created. The focus is on the music and the gameplay, where it should be, not on intricate finger animations of characters you're not even looking at while playin...
I'm pretty sure the entire world rolled their eyes at this one.
Announcing a PS2 price cut ON THE PLAYSTATION BLOG?! That's just retarded.
Who goes to the PS blog and doesnt AT LEAST have a PS2?
This is the kind of 'announcement' that should be made in a weekly flyer.
Yes. It started development on PC.
Even SONY can't create an engine that can translate mass memory usage to SPU cycles. You need to develop from the ground up to multi-thread. Starting development on anything BUT PS3 completely removes the chance of using its capabilities. At best you'll get an MT framework... which makes me wonder how much space FFXIII is going to take up on HDD.
The idea that they're using 100% of the PS3's power is just a load of crap that the lazy programmers were feeding to the design team based only on available memory. Of course this is a PC architecture game running on PS3, so memory is always going to be an issue. They're running it at 100% memory capacity without SPU supplementation. (So does EVERY other half-assed developer out there.)
They're using 256MB RAM and only the CPU. Guaranteed.
PS cloud will likely be a supplemental storage/computing option to enhance the PS3 with additional processing power, storage instead of HDD use and Save Data transferring from PS3 to PS3.
Technically releasing a new 40GB at 299.99 (as rumoured) doesn't qualify as a price drop.
Isnt there a high def texture patch in the works for N64 emulators? I'd rather play the game rendered in HD with high def textures, than a remake using the Twilight Princess engine, again in 480p.
'Your platforms are not working' he said, after blatantly and completely ripping off LocoRoco.
They should have clarified the conditions of 'unranked'
Why is there a cord coming out of the wireless adapter? Does that little POS need it's own plug?!
I think they made a bad move pulling bots.
You don't bring a knife to a gun fight
Um.. Sony and Microsoft are primarily hardware providers in the console game there Rob. You're the game developer... Maybe someone should clarify that role for you.
My mom has both a WiiFit board and a PS3.
One of them is a bed for her Jack Russel Terrier.
Not removing trumpeted features within 48 hours of release.
GG removing bots in KZ2 is be very similar to Capcom adding running-and-gunning in RE5, then changing back to the way it is 2 days later. At least Capcom had the balls to say "If that's a feature you want, then save your money."
Much like Epic and the Unreal Engine, unless Crytek themselves are going to start making console games (which they're not,) this is wholly pointless.
Unfortunately the PhyreEngine still stumbles by nature of the fact that it requires development to be lead on PS3 and ported down, not vice versa.
Bethesda is (and remains) ignorant of this logic.
My cousin had brought the PS3 version over last night. It certainly looked pretty.. but I think that's what the consoles are arguing over here. Which looks better?
As far as I'm concerned, after maybe 5 minutes.. the game wasnt worth playing anymore. It's a terrible game.
So, let's pile over screens and video comparison to see which console can make this turd sparkle the most.
I never said the controls were executed well. I didn't mean to imply it. Visually and stylistically, the action in KH2 and by extention Dissidia are very compelling; Particularly to fans of Nomura's work. The most interesting thing to me is that I actually see progression from KH2 to Dissidia, and that's a step down in terms of hardware. I'm very excited to see what they're doing with the PS3.
Oh man.. PageMaker sure refuses to die.. but it sure can kill.
I work prepress at a web printing company, we still get PageMaker derived PDFs on a daily basis. Every time it's a new adventure. If it werent for PDFs themselves, the printing industry would likely file a class-action against Adobe for time/money lost.
