While I completely agree that a complete lack of backward compatibility is bogus, I also understand that at this point a complete reboot of the brand is not only necessary, it's unavoidable. (Let's not forget that it was Sony that invented the concept of console backward compatibility and tried to maintain it until this very generation. Some credit is due, I believe.)
I haven't decided yet, whether I want a PS4 (many questions need answers before I can make that d...
Hate to break it to ya brother, but they weren't going to either way.
I'm personally quite interested in the concept of Remote Play actually finally becoming a viable service. Sony has been teasing it with PS3/PSP since 2007 but it's never quite materialized in any meaningful way.
While the cross-buy initiative is actually a better solution to the problem, providing native software on both systems, it was always going to be limited in scope to software that could be handled by the Vita itself. Plus I can only imagine the cost of develop...
No. What reason is there to buy it?
This thing has no reason to exist anywhere with high broadband availability.
I can't imagine this won't be the case and it remains one of the biggest question marks left on the table.
I hope they continue to offer a no-frills basic online gaming service as they have with the PS3. I'm happy to listen to anything beyond that.
Of course a list of sequels is predictable. That's all that can be predicted. We know there are going to be new IPs but they're impossible to see coming... because they're new.
I loved Triple Triad. I can't believe Square Enix has still not made that into a mobile game. They put Tetramaster online via PlayOnline (though it's long since been discontinued) but they continue to ignore the much better game that came before it.
The main narrative is sooo convoluted. I've played the game through 3 or 4 times and I still don't have a complete grip on it. The love story was so damn cheesy and poorly written. A lot of characters just make no sense in the context of the world (Irvine for instance). The battle system is pretty broken. It encourages long, boring stretches of drawing and drawing and drawing. Then it discourages any use of the magic collected as it's allocated in the junction system. Boosting sum...
Mm are, by their own admission, working in a new IP besides Tearaway and have reportedly washed their hands of LBP. It's been passed on to the team that did LBP Vita.
I do expect them to be working on a PS4 launch title but it's anyone's guess what it could be.
No. It's a central theme in fact.
I'm glad the ESRB has put the descriptor in the rating and left it at that.
My favorites were:
Super Mario 64
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Donkey Kong 64
Paper Mario
007: Goldeneye
Star Fox 64
It upsets me that DK64 is not (and likely never will be) on Virtual Console
There has been a small amount of actual gameplay shown of the game and it does look genuinely exciting. Of course it's easy to show the 10 good minutes of a 10 hour production but it's more than just cutscenes are you assert.
The prospect of a Kingdom Hearts style game without the candy-coated Kingdom Hearts aesthetic is a tantalizing proposition.
Even now, I remain cautiously optimistic that if it ever comes out, it will be good.
Would be nice. I know it's going to happen eventually. I'm not about to waste my time signing a petition about it.
It is fake.
@Jdoki
I think a comparison with Drake's Fortune, adjusted for a massive increase in userbase is probably a fair metric.
I think they'll do fine if they open up and remove the barriers for content creators. I have a feeling that's not going to happen though.
If Disney wants to do better in games, they need to get the hell out of the way and let talented developers fly with their properties. It's not really their core strength or philosophy.
I'm curious about that.
Uncharted clearly has a broader appeal than Last of Us. I actually expect it to go the other way and not out-perform it. That may be a biased perspective because I'm not particularly interested in it myself, despite it obviously being amazingly high-quality.
I'm very interested to see how it plays out. In any event, I'm definitely not rooting for it to fail.
Santa Monica is a huge tech hub. What's the problem? Do you need them to name all 150 people individually?
@TechnicianTed
Ha. Touche.
Of course.. someone had to actually buy a 7800 in order to play 2600 carts on it but touche nonetheless.
