Don't use the 360's storage solutions as a yardstick.
People said the exact same thing about Final Fantasy XI over a decade ago. (They still say it today, in fact.) But Square Enix wasn't then stupid enough to make an MMORPG that wasn't on PC.
Being online is not the issue. Being online on the very last system anyone associates with the internet is probably a bigger complication.
The game will be just fine as soon as they shake the cobwebs out of their skulls and move it to PC.
@isyourhouseonfire
Again.. That's how it works.. EVERY TIME.
Devs will get a dev kit that resembles the final console (completely superficially) when the design is finalized.
Until then.. it's completely irrelevant. If they can't figure out x86 development without custom case mod, they have bigger problems.
Performance > Graphics.
Form never trumps function.
I agree.
1920 x 1080 at 60Hz AND NO DAMNED EXCEPTIONS!
Performance is a hallmark of quality in software development. If you are compromising on the pixels or the frames, you are compromising your product. Change the scope or optimize the code. There are no more excuses.
Sorry, I really tried to parse that comment for the point..
But what the hell are you talking about?
Dev kits change leading up to console launches all the time. Every time. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
But you know what happens? The memory is lowered to cut production costs. "Make your game with 4GB of RAM" is all devs needed to know. Having more given to them has absolutely no impact on them whatsoever, except to alleviate any memory relate...
There is that too.
It seems to me that the onus is on MS right now to replace "literally nothing" with "literally anything else".
That was an Obsidian game.
That was a Bioware game.
I can easily imagine a scenario where Steam ends up wholesale on PS4, Valve and Sony split PS4 based revenue 50/50 and everybody wins.
Valve gets an easy and broad entrance into the living room with little effort and investment.
Sony gets a huge library and broad market appeal with little effort and investment.
Steam remains Valve's domain. The PSN remains Sony's. Each bolstered by their own games. PSN games would unlock trophies. Steam games ...
Men have sex with dogs too.
Men have sex with rubber tubes.
Men have sex with any tight, slippery orifice they can find.
Stop cowering in the corner pretending the only place penises ever explore is vagina. It's delusional and sad.
There's certainly a lot more interesting things going on in Rage than in any Doom game. That doesn't make it a success by any stretch.
Rage is id's only attempt at modern game development in their entire long history. It failed commercially and pretty much critically as well. I think it's indicative that id was never meant to be a large scale developer.
The people who hold id up as a Paragon of PC development are selectively ignoring the fact ...
If that's all Nintendo hardware is for (and it is), why does Nintendo continue releasing the hardware without it?
Really, Nintendo can walk into E3 and say:
"Here is a stupid piece of white plastic,.
Here is Mario.
Here is Zelda.
Here is the game in which Mario and Link appear together.
Here is the launch date and price.
We'll see you in 5 years."
Bam. Company streamlined and...
I don't buy for a second that Hayter won't be Snake in MGS5.
These are pretty broad concepts anyway. It's a bit of a stretch to cry foul.
All three of those games did very well by any reasonable metric and that doesn't even include the undisclosed digital sales.
They were just held up as an excuse. They posted unreasonable expectations on those three titles to offset the massive expenditures and debt their Japanese business has been incurring.
It was never going to pan out in their favour. It was just a financial shell game that Wada was playing and he lost.
Good riddance. ...
Long overdue.
We can only hope the next guy isn't as incompetent and shortsighted.
Wrex and Tali were both dead before ME3.
One of the best things about the series is accepting it and moving forward. No quicksaves or reloads. Just suck it up and see how it plays out.
What a sorry state this industry is in, when 'the most interesting take on the 25-year-old character to date' is a corridor FPS.
You don't even have to be original to do creative things with Mega Man. He's a malleable character.
Pitch: Mega Man as a Metroidvania. All 8 Robot Masters/Mavericks are holed up in Wily's Mansion or some such place and their weapons double as means to open new areas and new bosses as you progress. Very much a Meg...
