Journey? Not a current "franchise" per se, but whether that's it or not, there you go:

I want Starhawk. Been waiting so long.
God of War IV is not out of the question.
Stig Asmussen mentioned during the "Night with the Directors" panel that he had ideas on where the series could go after GoWIII.
God of War II came out only 2 years following God of War, hastened by technology already in place. Every other Sony studio is now on 2 year dev cycles. The time frame fits.
Pretty cool, but I doubt it's the first.
I don't think Third Person Shooters and First Person Shooters necessarily target the same audiences, though there is obviously some overlap.

What's worse? A retailer who is clearly pulling dates out of their ass, or the people who believe in them enough to post about it online?
Hey! That's FF1's map. I hope it's actually rendered, not just an image like Spira's map.

First of all, Lightbox was NEVER Santa Monica, they were Incognito.
Second, Santa Monica continues to help with development of the game. They host producer meetings, milestones and greenlights as well contribute to cinematic and music composition.
I'm curious if all the units given away on Oprah, Jimmy Fallon, Times Square, etc. have been counted.
Carbonite.
Gearbox was all like "Millions of guns!"
And Ninja Theory was all like "Millions of lost sales due to exclusivity.. shmah!"
And gamers were all like "Millions of guns?! shmah!"
Agreed. You don't even THINK about giving a release date until the quality is already there.
If it's not ready, then don't ship it.
Those are really the only solid numbers they have. They should just clearly state the difference when they present them.
I work for a printing company. I know how many copies of something a customer orders. I know how many copies we provide. I have no idea how many get circulated.
