Problems in a beta are forgivable. Problems in demos are not.
All documentation I can find online says it's 1920x1080 at 85hz.
And yeah.. we know monitors have been higher resolution than 1080 for a long time. We're not retards.
I didn't give a specific opinion on Resistance Fall of Man.
R2 was objectively bad. It did a few cool things but ultimately they tried to do too many things in too short a time. Too many resources were split between Resistance and Ratchet and Clank. Adding another year to R3's dev time was a great idea. Dedicating another team in North Carolina to Ratchet and Clank let the core group focus on a single game. Ted Price pulling away from design to focus on running the co...
@NukaCola
It's not a port of a port. It's just a port. PSone classics are ripped right from PSone discs. It's not ported again to PSP/PS3. The hardware uses a software emulator to run PS1 games as is.
I'm not really blaming Insomniac. They're aware of it as much as anyone. There were numerous reasons why R2 wasn't as good as it could/should have been.
The fact remains it was a poor follow-up and that has repercussions on a franchise.
The problem Resistance 3 is facing is that Resistance 2 sucked and lost the faith of its community.
The same thing will happen with Dragon Age 3. Mark my words.
Good question. That's not what the $15 is for. That's just a carrot.
Apparently you get like 15 character slots or something, a huge inventory, all new content that comes out for no additional cost.
I doubt anyone is going to pay $15 for these perks. It's really just for the people who were foolish enough to pay for lifetime memberships.
You cared enough to read the post specifically about trophies. You even cared enough to post about it.
Yoshida definitely seems to be the most level-headed among Sony's top brass. Pretty much anything that comes out of his mouth is fair. He gives credit where due and will only criticize from a standpoint of a game consumer.
It's no surprise that more and more Sony comments come from him.
That seemed to be the unanimous reaction.
With 500 people on the franchise and a trigger happy CEO, you really SHOULD care about sales.
Because with points they can rip off certain markets while advertising prices in a different currency.
They've been ripping off Canadian users since the launch of XBL. Even while CAD was higher than USD, Canadian point prices remained inflated compared to US. The same holds true in Europe using pounds.
Meanwhile the same content is usually available on PSN for the 'actual' advertised price in local currency, usually a few dollars cheaper than on X...
I hope come final release, all updates going forward will quit obsolescing previous worlds. It's starting to get annoying to have to ditch everything I've done whenever a new update comes.
It's still in beta and I'm happy to deal with it for the time being. But once it's out of beta, that shit has got to end.
a) Not your right to sue, your participation in class-action suits, which are all frivolous, let's be honest. They're just cash-ins for lawyers duping ignorant people into mob mentality. Class-action suits should be reserved for serious matters of public health and safety. By crying wolf over matters like the PSN hack, we weaken our legal recourse.
b) If you feel Sony has slighted you so significantly as to want to sue them, I think you can do without PSN access.
Excellent. Instant Ad-Hoc party compatibility.
Great news, if not particularly new. My excitement is a bit dampened by the fact that the God of Wars and Peace Walker will already be fixed via their HD releases.
It would probably help for Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts but they're not available digitally and thus incompatible for Vita. And no, there will be no solution for UMDs on Vita. We've been here before with the PSPgo.
@silkrevolver
I'm not trolling. I love Chrono Trigger I even OWN the Final Fantasy Chronicles.
The PS version of Chrono Trigger is legitimately crap. The load times between areas measure in the tens of seconds. There's even a multiple second pause before EVERY BATTLE.
There's plenty of versions out there. SNES is the best. Virtual Console is also great. DS works fine.. if you don't mind a loss in resolution.
I...
You don't want the PS version of Chrono Trigger. It's garbage. (not trolling, read next comment)
FFVI is a disappointment though.
Historically, if Stephen Totilo is telling me something is great, it's incompatible with my own tastes and probably objectively bad.
Naughty Dog have been saying this since Uncharted 1 was in development. You just weren't listening.
Shocking.
