Honestly really excited to see more of this. I'm not a fan of everything being open world but given Sonic's speed I think an open world free of the confined stages and falls might work well for giving the series the freedom of speed it needs. Think if the drawn opening movie of Sonic CD was a real open world, that thought has me hopeful.

Looks impressive but there was not much actual gameplay in there. Ninja Theory always spends so much time on the graphics but then the actual gameplay is mundane. This made the show for me. Glad to see the remaster really was put out to give others a chance to get to know the series before announcing this. Also completely stoked that Remedy is going full in on it being a survival horror title. Control and Alan Wake both had elements of survival horror to them and with the Metroid like exploration of Control I could see this being very special.

from a modern perspective RE2 R and RE3 R would be a good starting point but to do it properly play the HD remaster of RE1 R then move on to those. if the series becomes a fav for you going back to the older titles would be what I'd recommend next. Moving on to 4-8 only is you REALLY want to as to me those are the weakest in the series.
I am really glad to see so many comments echo this, as I have been saying these things for a very long time mostly into an echo chamber. Thats Capcom's fault by fragmenting the series so heavily over the decades. its made the fan base broken and volatile.
