Watching the big paid reviewers slobber all over this with 9's and then seeing the smaller places hit it with middle of the road scores like a 7 make me think this game could have used more time or better yet a hard line from 343 of "no more Xbox 1 support"
This score makes more sense then the 9 IGN gave it. How do you say the story is not good in a story driven single player game but the game is almost perfect?

Its a great game but for the era it came from, I have always thought Bloodlines on Genesis was the better 16bit Castlevania

The shit thing about this to me is that the only thing they are really delaying is the street release of the already pressed physical copies. Its not like this delay will change the trash code on the discs, it will just make it so there is a patch before you can install the games on consoles. If they were decent they would trash the discs and reauthor Gold masters with the patched code

The companies you mentioned CDProject and R* aside have always been shit, its just that as online integration worked its way into all aspects of gaming their cash grab practices became more obvious. if you don't follow gaming news you won't know or care. the reality is most gamers don't care about "scandalous" headlines or SJW causes, its just nonsense to stir the pot. gaming has never been bigger and as it grows its always going to bring to light issues.

Way too little and way too late. They did not have to launch this in this shape it was not even announced so its not like delaying it 6 months to a year would have mattered. They knew it was shid, dropped trou and left it right in your living room anyway. I don't care how much its patched, I will never buy it. Look I really enjoy my PS5 and design wise its a great console. All that said despite industry leading SSD, liquid metal cooling, and an amazing controller. the lack of engineering on simple things like blu ray drive noise and coil whine buzz from the power supply could have used more work. The Series X despite more typical "off the parts shelf" internals manages to be smaller, with a more powerful CPU, somehow is truly whisper quiet in all aspects, disc in or not.
This. They could not deliver the game the way Microsoft wanted it, which as usual is the problem with MS, WAY too much oversight and push to include whatever trendy game mechanic is hot at the moment. If they had just let them make the game that Platinum wanted it probably would have been a hit .
I'm not surprised by this. the XB1 never was a powerhouse and its clearly holding this game back but so long as the XSX runs it at a stable 60 I won't really care

its not a terrible game its just not as good as L4D was when it came out. The card system "buffs" are dumb and the game just does not do as good of a job bringing you in to the world. Still it looks good, has solid controls and a lot of gun options. I just can't get into it
I own a Series X and do not pay for GamePass. Its still cheaper for me to buy the games I want rather then constantly pay for a library of disappearing rentals
Still rather play these the the woke trash thats shoved into most games anymore. At least Falcom still has some class
