The point here being is that if Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4 aren't true "Fallout" games then there hasn't been one for nearly 20 years. You'd think that the 'real Fallout fans' would have realized by now that they're never getting one, and stop bitching about it. If they can't stop bitching about it, then I suggest they go play Wasteland 2 - it's the game they seem to want.

The original Fallout was released back in 1997. That's very nearly 20 years ago. If the people who don't like the newer Fallout games want to go back to a top-down, isometric RPG then they should be playing Wasteland 2.
I can't imagine having to be a PR guy in this day and age, especially having to deal with social media interactions like this. It must be like trying to have a normal debate with a roomful of 5-year-old special needs kids.
I don't understand. Does anyone ever watch The Godfather II and say to themselves, 'Jeez, I don't know, this movie isn't quite different enough from the first one'? Or listen to an AC/DC album and get disappointed that it isn't more like Adele?
I don't know what it is, but other than Dogmeat getting stuck on the scenery a few times, this seems to have far less glitchiness for me than what's being reported. No crashes, lockups, quest problems, nada.

This was pretty fun for about a week, then I dusted off my copy of Fallout 3 and I've been playing that instead - much more satisfying.
Surely. But with mods set to make their way to consoles (and how is that going to work btw? I can't see how consoles are going to have any way to replace/overwrite game files), now the only difference will be down to graphics - and the consoles can't compete with PCs in that arena.

Well, most mobile games are like the 80's arcade games - no real story, no sense of progression, not designed to play for more than a few minutes at a time. Why would you take that seriously?

No one ever claimed 3D movies were dead; although I think they are making less and less of them lately. But 3DTV & 3D gaming are dead dead dead. As for VR being a fad, well, if all it takes is a large number of people being excited about it, then yes it's a fad.
My Dogmeat was impervious to everything - I don't know how many times I watched him go sailing through the air after chucking out a few grenades or a Fatboy or two. He always got back up with nary a scratch. I ended up losing him while exploring a ruin with radioactive water that you had to dive/swim through. I was heartbroken when I realized I had lost him. He's probably still down there wondering where his master went *sniff*
Bethesda is going to win this, hands down.

I know! I can not believe that Microsoft would dare sell more consoles than Sony last month. I mean, come on, using a sale to get more sales? Right before Christmas? It's almost as if consumers don't read N4G!
Eh. I'm not disappointed at all. I've never bought a Street Fighter game, for any platform, so there isn't much chance of me wanting anything to do with it. Now if I was a fighting game kind of guy, with an XB1, I would probably be pissed.
It's not worth it to me. I'm still happy with my current-gen console, and unless something really crazy happens, I'll probably stick with it until Fallout 4.
Just because the PS4 has sold 13M, it doesn't automatically make it good or 'worth it'. You don't judge somethings worth based on the number it sells, or how many people have it. If that was the case, then everyone would want cancer, or heart disease, since hey, everyone seems to be getting it.
There's a perk to make you immune to water radiation, so you're probably right. I've been too busy on land to explore the sea yet though.
