These can't be particularly 'secret', as I've already found 5 of 6 of them. Especially Embershard Mine, it's right next to Riverwood.
I can see some people using these kinds of methods to grind skills, but I much prefer doing it organically, the way the game meant it to be. I got my Smithing up to 100 in the end, although I was level 40 & had sunk in about 120 hours to get there. I think if I had ramped up much faster I would have been overpowered too early.
If they find a way to port the creation kit & mods over to the 360, I think I would name my next daughter Beth in gratitude.
I wonder how much $$$ EA has had stuffed in their pockets due to the FIFA hacks on Live. I know they raided all the points I had for add-ons when I was hacked. Thankfully, the credit card on file was outdated, so at least I didn't get any new charges (and MS gave me back my points & account within 3 business days, so no big deal for me luckily).
Happened to me over the weekend, but luckily enough I had an old expired credit card on file, so instead of taking a huge hit to the pocketbook, I'm only out the few MS points in the account. I noticed it because I had racked up 2 achievements for FIFA 12, which I don't own. The rep I spoke to confirmed that this was happening a lot, but otherwise we didn't discuss it much - we both knew what had happened.
I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff - Earth Defense Force, Deadly Premonition, etc. - so, yeah there's a better than average chance I'll get this at some point.
I mean, I'm old enough to have played Pong in an arcade. I grew up with an Atari 2600. Trust me when I say that no matter how big of a pile of crap this game may be, that there have been much, much worse games - and I have likely played those too. Deadly Towers for the NES, anyone?
I'm a little OCD when it comes to RPG's I like (Fallout 3 springs to mind) - I can't tear myself away until I know ALL of the quests have been completed, and I've seen every single point of interest, and picked up every single unique weapon. So while there's no doubt in my mind that I will complete all of the Main, Side, Companion, and Guild quests, I am more than a little worried about the fact that the game pumps out infinite quests.
I did have my first ...
I'm pretty surprised to see the xbox 360 version of Skyrim chart myself - I thought the Japanese folks hated the xbox?
I'll be honest & say I haven't played a Zelda game since the original Link on the NES, so I can't comment on your first point. I completely disagree with your second point though. I'm wondering if you've actually played Skyrim yourself, or if your Zelda-love is clouding your intellect.
I guess us stiff, boring, mechanic Canadians don't agree with you either.
I'm having too much fun having Lydia carry all of my burdens to marry her, although that's about the only reason I'm going out of my way to keep her alive.
Nah, I can't imagine I won't finish this. In fact, I fully expect to 'finish' it a few times over as different races, archtypes, etc.
Given that I dumped about 240 hours all told in Fallout 3, I am guessing I'll put in somewhere between 400 - 500 hours into this. And with the 4.5 lb, 670 page guide book, I think I'll deserve a $#@!% degree from Bethesda in the end!
Having spent nearly 400 hours between Fallout 3 & New Vegas, I am happily surprised to see how many things are similar - I pretty much picked it up & ran with it since a lot of the mechanics are so similar (lockpicking, anyone?).
Eh, they disagreed with mine too. Damn honesty, see where it gets you?
Yeah, I hate to admit it, but I play a lot of Bejeweled on Facebook to pass time while the wife has the TV watching soaps or home improvement shows. I don't even really care how well I do most of the time; it's just something to do to.
I love reading Jim's reviews over on Destructoid, he says what he thinks and doesn't sugarcoat anything. That's not to say I agree with everything he writes, but I admire him sticking to his guns when the inevitable backlash tsunami washes up. It's his opinion after all.
The only problem I had with this was a glitch - I couldn't get the rings to turn in the door that unlocks with the claw. However knowing how these things go, I ran all the way out, waited about a day in-game, went back in and tried it again and, voila!
I saved a random mutt (AKA stray dog) from a pack of wolves somewhere out in the woods early on, and he was my trusty attack mongrel for awhile. I lost him after a while though (I don't think he followed me into a barrow), and am hoping he turns up later.
Huh. I've had the demo since Tuesday or Wednesday. Played through it last night, was really nice - looked great and handles like butter. I'm hoping the wife or the kids decide on this for an x-mas present so I can get some time in on it myself.
I'm going to have to sit on my hands looks like. I loathe paying the $7, but I so want the DLC!
I'm not the kind of person who normally goes out of my way to be competitive enough to rank on global leaderboards. When RDR was still new though, I decided to check the global leaderboards for a laugh, since they tracked a lot of weird things.
Imagine my surprise to find out I was within the top 10 worldwide for killing those damn cougars at a location-specific challenge in multiplayer. I would go home & seriously spend a couple of hours doing nothing else in the ga...
