The 360's unified shaders are far more efficient to utilise so there's little if any difference in realworld software.
The PS3 and Xbox360 demo stations in my local game stores were always having issues due to poor ventilation so every store bar one just scrapped them period.
Given crappy ventilation even PS3s won't work but unlike the early 360 they don't melt and warp internally.

Certainly wasn't a flawless victory for Sony, HD DVD challenged them for a while but at the end of the day companies go where the money is.
The forced bundling of Blu-ray with the PS3 meant it was going to be tough early on for HD DVD, a challenge they were unable to overcome.

After Bioshock (System Shock 2 for n00bs) and Halo 3 (not the second coming of Christ) I've had my full of hype, hype is in no way indicative of the quality of a game.
The PS3's LTD sales are good not great (look at the Wii by comparison).
Both the PS3 and Xbox360 had staggered launches so that's a moot point, if anything MS were at more of a disadvantage due to severe stock shortages for the first few months.

Basically they said go with the console that has the games you prefer and to a lesser extent the controller you prefer. They said the consoles are close enough technically that it shouldn't be a deciding factor unless you really want Blu-ray.

Noodlecup's comments are ironic considering UT’s gameplay has barely change since the first in the series. There were a lot of long time Unreal fans left disappointed by UT3 and after playing the demo I found out why.

PS3 games sell but often not as much as on competing consoles which is a big deal to developers.
Resistance has sold very well (largely thanks to bundling and reduced prices), Warhawk has sold decent numbers but not great. CoD4 has sold well but better on 360 and if early indications are to be believed UT3 is struggling.
All in all an average result.

The later profiles require additional hardware that can't be added with firmware updates (some standalones only excludes PS3).
HD DVD uses the same video codecs as Blu-ray TANOD.

The PS3 '08 line-up appears to have the most potential but time will tell just how good the PS3/360/Wii '08 line-ups really are.

The MGS/SC rivalry is like the Forza/GT rivalry, both sides have their advantages/disadvantages and the rivalries bring competition to the table with gamers the winners.
Just enjoy the games and don't sell your soul to one company/brand/franchise.
The RSX is largely a stock PC part from a processing standpoint, only the bus system (designed to provide better GPU<>CPU bandwidth) is largely different.
