I was expecting silence from CD considering how tight contracts and widespread NDAs are these days.

Don't worry I'm sure there's plenty of other things Sony zealots can blame MS for and hell they might actually be true and Microsoft's fault for a change.

Don't pay don't play, if fees are introduced and their userbase takes a dive they'll wake up.

I won't be buying Diablo III if I have to pay to play online, it's as simple as that.

NGS isn't 1080p native nor does it look good when upscaled to 1080p thanks to the terrible scaling Team Ninja implemented, the game isn't locked to 60FPS when upscaled to 1080p as evidenced by frame rate drops and other bizarre issues.

And not 960x1080, 1280x1080, 1440x1080 or 1600x1080 upscaled to 1920x1080 like many supposed 1080p PS3 games.

People associate 1080p with a 1920x1080 progressive signal and claiming these lower resolutions as 1080p just misleads consumers.

And exactly what is your contribution to society? Have you created some well known franchises I'm not aware of?

For displaying more maturity then most on here. I'm of slim build but I don't judge people based on their waistline.

Real mature guys. /sarcasm

At least he didn't give the PS3 another scathing.

I highly doubt the OB for PS3 will be fixed, it'd be a headache and might not even be possible depending on how EA handled the game.

Hopefully if L4D does make it to the PS3 it'll be better tailored for the PS3's hardware but for such a small company with so many areas of focus I can forgive Valve for not having the time to put out a PS3 version of L4D.

I'm really curious as to where you got that impression as everything I've read (and I read the odd tech paper) indicates that the PPE and SPE's have different strengths and weaknesses. The SPE's certainly aren't the all-in-wonder you tout them asand can be very expensive usage-wise when it comes to many tasks.

simple AI is easy on the SPE's but complex AI is so difficult to program and expensive in terms of processor usage that it will not be viable for most game developers who w...

There's a reason Apple dropped PowerPC and decided to go with Intel, performance.

For starters the G5's are very obsolete, IBM like to make ambiguous blanket statements that aren't true except under very specific and biased situations that are not real-world indicative tests by any means.

Reactive, highly complex AI will always be branch heavy. Branch hinting is nowhere near as good as proper branch prediction and one only needs to crawl google for developers’ though...

There won't be any successful Cell powered consumer PCs anytime soon if only for the fact that Windows is x86/x64 only. Add to that that office productivity would be lower on a Cell power PC and straight away it's apparent Cell is not suited for the bulk of PC users.

If anything the SPE's minus PPE will be utilised to accelerate media (encoding, decoding ect) with other work left to the x86/x64 processor that is more suited for it, just look at Toshiba’s recent Cell-derived effor...

Firstly the Cell and Xenon have very weak branch prediction and comparatively small caches which compounds the issue, they are both optimised for streaming media applications and lack execution units so they would be trounced by a modern AMD or Intel processor when it comes to office productivity suites and other complex, branching non-graphical PC activities.

Windows is developed for x86 and claiming its beyond Microsoft's ability to develop for other platform is pure BS, look a...

I think AMD and Intel will continue their own ventures which will be superior to the Cell in many areas, double precision being a likely one. The Cell has its uses but isn't suited as a general purpose CPU.

But Spore has more scope than LBP and unless MM introduces something other than 2D platforming it'll get old really fast for a lot of people.

What's really needed is a fully 3D console game that supports user generated content but for the time being such ambitious games are restricted to PC because of the limited forms of input and tools available to consoles.

I'm not a Nintendo hater but I simply don't like either the Wii or DS as first party Nintendo games haven't appealed to me since the N64 and third party support was dismal then and continues to be.

I had a Gamecube but I only bought it for Eternal Darkness and the Resident Evil games, there's simply nothing decent on the Wii that is dark fantasy/horror and is aimed at a more mature gamer (a remake of RE4 doesn't interest me especially since I have already passed in on GC and PC)....

There's a lot of PS3 fanbois on N4G so a lot of anti-MS news is only natural. Wireless and HDD aside the other Xbox360 accessories are similarly priced to their PS3 equivalents in most countries.

Current top-end PC graphics tech is already quite a bit ahead of the PS3 but there isn't the required userbase to make it a realistic target audience. RAM is so cheap these days that the next gen of consoles will likely have a few gigs of it making for far bigger and better levels.

Let it die ffs, optical media is the past. I'm looking forward to flash being more affordable, its speed and compact form will be great advantages.
