This casual explosion is a fad that no doubt will bring in more gamers, but the bubble will burst and developers/publishers will regret abandoning the much more stable hardcore base if they decide to strictly go casual.
Take my wife as a typical casual gamer. I asked her in May if she wanted Wii Fit and she knew only a little bit about it, but said she would only use it a few times and wouldn't be worth it. Now that it is selling out the door and her friends are talking it up...
Good grief Tom, you bought 25 games in the time it took you to write that comment. You need to slow down buddy.
As far as the big secret, I'm going to guess they are incorporating Sony's new break away motion sensitive controller into the game to throw grenades and do other stuff like that.
Just a guess, but I would expect that to be revealed at E3 though not via a magazine.
Thanks guys! You got to wonder how they choose their reviewers sometimes.
Bubbles back at ya... :)
Man, I love Disgaea 2 on the PSP. I have close to 50 hours put into it and only halfway through the story (I spend alot of time exploring the item world). I'd still prefer Disgaea 3 on the PSP because I can sneak 20-30 mins in here and there much easier than I can on
the console (especially at work :) )
There are some ingenious SRPG elements in these games especially geosymbols and lift/throw that really add to the game.
I don't think they are doing a b...
Here here. I hope they take these criticisms to heart and correct them on the PS3.
They seemed happy with 7's from their earlier statement. Maybe that is Atari's problem in a nutshell; they are ok with mediocrity.
If you are familiar with the movie Darkness Falls from about '03-'04. It was a horror movie about the tooth fairy. In the end the tooth fairy makes an appearance, however, she looks nothing like my avatar. There was a bit of controversy on what finally got shown in the movie. Steve Wang (of Predator and Guyver fame) created the version of the tooth fairy in my avatar. A few weeks before shooting, they totally scrapped the work Steve's team did and came up with what wound up in the movie,...
If there were 100 Japanese standing in line at Kodak with one box each:
32 would have a PS3
28 would have a PSP
19 would have a Wii
17 would have a DS
3 would have a PS2
1 would have a 360
I applaud them for stepping out of their comfort zone and doing something unique. NMH was alot of fun and over the top bloody too. This looks just as intriguing. Besides, I'm tired of being a 3rd rate man.
Let me tell you from the start that I utterly can't stand chocolate chip cookies. I have hated them for 10 years which is why CookieVision chose me to review Tollhouses newest cookies, even though the cookie monster sits in the cubicle next to me.
Hey, guess what, these cookies aren't bad.
Metacritic currently has it at 64. I wouldn't be too thrilled with that if I was Atari, especially since this is supposed to be a blockbuster title for them.
Man, I hope they clean up this game for the PS3 release. It sounds like a mess though that isn't an easy fix without reworking alot.
Poor Phil, he talked it up, but I wonder if he really felt that it was a good title or if he was kind of blindsided by it.
"This is likely due to the release of Metal Gear Solid 4"
Ummm... understatement of the year.
Sackboy in a kids meal at McD's. I'm telling you that is marketing gold. Do that and you will sell triple the # of LBP copies. I'll bet parents (myself included) will go get a happy meal for that.
Seems hard to keep anything secret anymore with the internet and people's snooping ability, plus leaked information.
Ahh, not more comments from Greenberg. Does this mean we are going to see his pretty face popping up here alot as E3 gears up?
I would be surprised to see FFXIII make it this holiday season. It doesn't need the holidays to get sales, so probably not worth rushing it out.
Fallout 3 will probably be a big contender.
Psycho Mantis must be on there somewhere. I can't believe he was able to move my controller from inside my TV. I had to go around to the back of the TV to check if he was really there.
This is the advantage to getting a game later. You always wind up with a better version and any DLC included. People moan and groan about getting a game delayed, but you wind up with something better, even when it goes 360 to PC. Look at Bioshock, ME, Oblivion even Overlord.
I have no doubt they will improve the game especially with Phil at the helm for the PS3 release.
