Its funny to see all of you rage and none of you counter argue. This is the men's dream and im sure as the leading vr compagby he knows what he is doing. Put money in the hands of great people that share an ambitious vision and magic WILL happen
Just wait and see for your own eyes.
It's a workstation card, why would you buy it for gaming?
@Rimfro
they are looking to diversify themselves so when their social throne get taken away they still live to see another day.
A social app software in VR need the same thing as a VR gaming experience... They won't just close off the open development if they want it to become big.
They've just injected 2 Billion dollar in the word's best VR team (by a long shot). How is this a bad thing?
Why would their focus change: Making the best VR experience possible?
huurhhhehue heueueuue 3000$ for a workstation card hururhher my games
that's how stupid you sound like.
I've always seen uncharted as the perfect rental game. I don't really get why it's so praised. Every game It's a good time but after 2 days(8h of gameplay, more like one) i'm done with the game story and the gameplay isn't something too appealing for me to play over and over.
30 fps, hhahahaha is this the 90's?
No one will pay 200$ for low resolution and framerate VR. PS4 is just not capable of great vr (4k 90fps)
If you don't think that's really important then you are clueless about what great VR is.
WiiU isn't... Wii U is barely faster then ps3/360. Nintendo is just out of touch with third parties since the wii.
foxy, shut up.
you are clueless, your comment help no one and it make no sens at all.
1)it was an nvidia presentation so it would not make sens.
2)the card is priced like that for a reason( and it is double precision aka a workstation card)
3)In most title the titan black is faster.
I don't see why they would lock it for ps4, they would only get more people into VR if they didn't.
Anyway, the rift is just better in every way. VR is going to be great in 3-4 years with really high resolution and fast screen refresh rate but ps4 won't have the muscle to do so.
Anyone interested in VR Should look at the rift and not bother with sony's one imo. Much lesser experience. Specially in 2-3 years where we see the second or third iteration (when it start getting great)
Sony's vr will be stuck in time due to hardware limitation.
engaget's impression clearly state those flaws already.
Cause console can't handle high res and high framerate and are not flexible.
"It's not all virtual reality rainbows and dreams, of course. There are still some pretty major issues to overcome in Project Morpheus. Vision blur, for instance, is a much bigger problem on Morpheus than on Crystal Cove/Rift DK2. The screen resolution is also clearly not as high as DK2, making everything a bit muddier."
I don't see any reason why someone interested by VR would get this over the rift.

-ENGAGET.
What is he even talking about. There is no fix way mid tier hardware can compete in an ever evolving tech world. In 2...
Rage is the work of hundreds of people. He's one of the most brilliant man in the industry and when he talk you should listen and try to understand.
He's paid by sony...
The rift>sony vr for the simple fact that the rift will be 1440p/4k real soon and that the ps4 can't handle more then 1080p.
On top of that they use LCD screen that is quite less sharp in motion then an OLED screen the rift will have.
90fov and 1080p is low for a VR experience, on top of that there won't be strobing in the LCD so it will look blurry.
W/e make you sleep at night. The reality of it is that the ps4 got a 7850 inside and it's quite slow compare to modern and upcoming gpus and that just about anyone who tried the 720p Oculus rift will tell you that you need really high resolution, really high refresh rate and low motion blur for it to be a pleasant experience witch the ps4 can't do.

Because Nvidia released a workstation GPU..?
Stop being stupid please.
