Nobody is making claims Sony is going to fail. They are making claims that the PS Now service is under performing and not viable to what competitors have to offer. With a user base diminishing by 25% as you suggest it simply shows even less a market to move forward for Sony in the next generation. Not a good stand point behind a service you are offering.
And yet as many have pointed out across the board... not a comparable trade off as GamePass is doing much better in its market than is PS Now. If PS Now wants to offer a comparable service they will need to change. If it wants a larger portion of its gamer base to subscribe it will need to look at changing.
"I don't know why people say PS Now needs to improve or change. It doesn't need to change because their current model works for the fanbase" -Neither consoles sales nor exclusive sales factor into the need for a separate service to be competitive. The reason said service is being talked on to improvement is not a slight on PS Now it is a call that it does not compare to another service being offered. And a pointing out that it offers less incentive to use for gamers.
"That huge library of titles is as big an incentive as any." - except for the fact it is not. It for sure is an incentive but by far less an incentive than new releases. Huge library is Charles Barkley big... having new titles is Shaquille O'Neal big.
You would be on the wrong side of why said services interest gamers to use them. By far the availability of NEW titles far outweighs the availability of older titles in mass as a draw for subscriptions.
Not a fact. PC does not have ALL the same games as the console for GamePass. In the same way console does not have all the games that are offered for PC GamePass.
"The only thing really left for Sony to do now is to reward its fanbase the same way Microsoft. If PS Now hopes to keep up its momentum, it needs to start launching exclusives on PS Now." - that is the huge difference in why GamePass is so big for Xbox in comparison to PS Now for PlayStation. If Sony had the same exclusive offering then it would hands down be the leading service being talked on instead of GamePass. As it is now it is a way to play old games but offers less for new t...
Pretty sure both Halo and Gears series came out before 4K was really a big deal. (2001 and 2006) Consoles didn't even really deal with 4K until PS4 and Xbox One.
You obviously never had to really commute. Nor had to wait for long periods at a government office or elsewhere.
Let me guess... "and still priced at a reasonable $399" lol
Really? The guy got on stage and basically pulled his pants down to his ankles, and the writer applauds him for it.
It doesn't have to be one or the other. Because they might have been correct at one time does not mean that every reporting of data after is automatically correct.
If he imagines Xbox One X couldn't run 'Baldur's Gate 3' then he really is limiting the PC builds that then could run it.
Why is the articles title changed from "SHOULD SONY BE AFRAID OF THE NEWEST XBOX SERIES X ANNOUNCEMENTS" to "Here's Why Sony Isn't Pressured By The New Xbox Announcements"? The N4G title has nothing to do with the actual article.
@neutralgamer1992 - the same person that leaked the Xbox Series X specs which were proven to be correct also had leaked the PS5 specs. So pretty sure this theory of a 13.2TF PS5 is simply fanboy wishing.
"Because it’s based in part on the PS4’s architecture, it will also be backward-compatible with games for that console. As in many other generational transitions, this will be a gentle one, with numerous new games being released for both PS4 and the next-gen console. (Where exactly Hideo Kojima’s forthcoming title Death Stranding fits in that process is still unconfirmed. When asked, a spokesperson in the room repeated that the game would be released for PS4, but Cerny’s smile and pregna...
Not actually. Xbox 360 games played on disk on Xbox One still need a download that is basically the software version of the game to play it. Though this exact option is a thing announced for Xbox One games to Series X.
"Also for the last time the Cyberpunk 2077 cross gen deal is CDPRs decision, has nothing to do with MS AT ALL." MS and their ability to give developers the Xbox Series X dev tools and ability for seamless transition has made it easy for them. I don't know the architecture of the PS5 but likely not as friendly as the architecture between the XB1 and XBSX.
But you have to imagine that if CD Project Red is discussing the cross gen on Xbox and not on PlayStation a...
Sony doesn't play poker. They play Pachinko... sitting on their chair in front of the machine just slightly adjusting the knob until it gets to the position they want... and then they stick toothpicks into the knob to freeze it at the point they want.
Near literal definition of "resting on your laurels".
