TheVerge.com quotes Iwata as saying details won't be revealed until next year. I'm guessing a new core platform in 2017. But I am curious about the service they're putting out later this year.
He's just telling us a story. His title says "the day I saw Miyamoto's dark side", not "Miyamoto is actually an a**hole". I thought it was interesting to read, made me realize again there's a reason Miyamoto is so successful, he wants the best.
Nintendo doesn't think of franchises like other people do. Mario Party is different than Mario Kart which is different than Mario Golf which is different than Mario platformer which is different than Mario Olympics. As long as the gameplay or concept is different from another game it's a different or new IP to them.
Sure they rely on Mario a ton, no disputing that. But they rarely produce the same series twice in a row. Theirbiggest stagnation is the 2D Mario series (...
It's unique, quirky, and a new IP by Nintendo in the shooter genre. It's new ground for Nintendo so people are eager to see how it turns out. I'm still wondering about the full set of features and modes myself.
It's nice, I guess. There's not a lot of personality to the design, looks like average 3D models. I can tell not a whole lot went in to this (relative to a finished product).
The spiritual precursor, Xenoblade Chronicles is my favorite game (I've played quite a few RPG's, like the Mario one's, Tales of Symphonia, a little bit of FF, along with countless other various games). If you're going off of pedigree then Zelda/Xeno are sure buys. There's still the chance Fire Emblem x Shin Megami is being made, which I'm sure would be good.
As for the system itself, everything is pretty much known. You can play games just on the scre...
I'm always going to love and miss my full Ornstein set. Such a great trophy.
Who could forget Noobtube + OneManArmy Nuke strats.
Devil's Third is exciting because we don't get too many "for fun" multiplayer games (at least not for consoles), games like Timesplitters that don't take themselves too seriously, just zany and over the top shooters.
I'm interested to see how it has advanced as well. The sandbox multiplayer is intriguing, my guess is we can create and upload stages and set-ups. Visually the game didn't look that bad at E3, considering its development history for...
Are we talking about Mortal Kombat 1 movie, or MK Annihilation movie? Because one of them was good, the other not so much
AC2 is an amazing game. I would get lost in the city, absorbing the life and exploring every nook and cranny. Since I identify most with my Italian heritage, exploring an open world game set in Italy was great.
It was back when the task of finding landmarks, doing quests, and finding tons collectibles was fresh, now we've had several Far Cry's, AC's, and other games following the formula. Story and characters were good, and it was before the series became an annua...
I remember when we replaced our old Gateway 2000 and upgraded to whatever had XP it came with The Sims. Never really tried to play the normal game from start to unofficial finish, but it was fun to use the cheat for free money and create awesome houses.
That game was super fun. My friends had a playstation and I would stay with them a lot with my brother. Too bad it didn't make it as a regular franchise.
They should never have been collectors in the first place. That's what Gold Amiibo are for, not a base version of a character we may never see again.
Nintendo needs to slow down. Sure they're making a ton of money off of these, and by making more they're increasing the frenzy, but they need to make up for the shortages from Wave 1.
I don't mind the gold Amiibo selling out in 1 minute and selling at many times the price. I mean it's supposed to be super rare and for collectors. But for Normal Amiibo, hell no. If you want a basic Amiibo you should be able to get one. Limited time, sure, but not limited supply for standard Amiibo.
I'm excited to see how well the Nintendo games do this year. Some are new IP's, others are established franchises either getting bigger or taking a new direction. Last year they wowed with some really solid releases, they're flexing a lot of creative muscle this year.
Metroid Prime 3 is a classic in part by the Wiimote. I like both way of controlling the trilogy, Wiimote was butter smooth.
StarFox snes is my standard. Loved the difficulty, seriousness of the sprites and visuals. it's my favorite Arwing design as well.
Miyamoto hasn't directed a Star Fox game since 64, can't wait.
Sounds like Nintendo is creating a 3 tiered approach to their game division. At the bottom is the mobile tier, create small, fun games that can be played on Mobile and then any system with the Nintendo service attached (we may even see Amiibo at this level). These games will introduce people to core franchises and advertise their core systems. The middle then top tier is their handhelds and consoles, have a bunch of revenue and consumers streams that funnel in to support them.
