She looks bland at first, but the incorportion of WiiFit poses in attacks, her Final Smash, and somewhat creepy voice gives her some character(imagine her giving you fitness advice while smashing your face in or after a victory).
Smash Bros thrives not from one or five good characters but all 30 or so. She's quirky but if done right shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure people were confused with Mr. Game & Watch on Melee but now I think most welcome him.
Was it really that difficult to beat MS? I mean they kind of defeated themselves
Nintendo had one job which was to show a wide variety of titles, ranging from Mario Kart and Smash to Bayonetta 2 and "X". Nintendo might have played it too safe, but you have to respect Retro's decision to perfect the DKC series they reignited
I'm still puzzled why Sonic didn't have a showing, though I suspect it was more because of Sega than Nintendo
Donkey Kong, Pikmin 3, and Mario World are coming out by the end of the year (and those are just the 1st party titles).
After the Direct I'm glad they did one instead of a full-blown conference. While they possibly would have beefed up their presentation, with the stuff they showed it felt better suited to a small scale presentation, there wasn't the potential overhype of a grand stage
I do have to say that Bayonetta 2, "X", Mario Kart, and Smash Bros were stellar showings and stand outs of the DIrect, something for everyone. I would have loved if the Direct was longer, an ho...
Meet your new worst nightmate. Hell has come to Smash Bros.

Still waiting for the 60 FPS announcement (not that I care either way)
I wonder how "X" will run. Both titles certainly deserve the best.
You should wait for a great deal. If you want ZombiU then get one now, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a Holiday bundle with another great title
Then again I tend to give poor financial advice
They had me worried when they started by talking about entertainment features and referencing sales and demographics
After that it was a great show. Not perfect but pretty damn good
"Probably"
:X
I'm pretty sure every developer has a title in the works at all times. The game is most likely almost done and Miyamoto isn't one to sit on his hands
It's most likely they finished 3D Land and when they started talking about the next Mario the concept of expanding on 3D Land came up and started building steam
Mario Galaxy 2 was the same style as 1 but as just as good, if not better.
The real question is when the nostalgia ends is it a good game? Also is it a true successor to Killer Instinct or just in name only?
The whole "next-gen" debate doesn't really apply to Nintendo since they put innovation over power. It's "next gen" because it came after the Wii and has a whole different focus. I'm pleased with the power "X" shows
But Vegeta has no friends :(
I just don't like the tactic of bundling the stuff you want with the stuff you don't want, much like Live. It would be like a car maker forcing you to buy the car with heated seats when you don't want to pay for them
Basically Sony/MS know you want to play online so they charge you for it. It's a little dirty but in the grand scheme of things no reason to overreact.
My wish is they would introduce two different online packages. One that conta...
While the WiiU has some support, really only Ubisoft is the one showing dedicated support like you'd see on the other consoles.
As for EA developing for WiiU, I gotta see physical proof. Nintendo won't stand a chance unless the 1st party pulls through and we see a decent install base
I really hope "X" shows what the WiiU can do. If EA could release BF4 or MGS from Kojima for the WiiU without a substantial drop in fidelity and graphics then ...
From the sound of it there were come playability issues with Returns that kept it from being "perfect". They might not feel like they did the best they could've done and want to expand and refine.
One positive thing about this reveal is it shows Nintendo doesn't think of DK as a dead franchise. Getting a stellar entry this early in the console life is a sign of support for this venerable IP.
The wait for Metroid is long, but will be fruitf...
This one of the most ignorant comments I've heard about this situation
I doubt Kamiya has millions sitting around somewhere
While the design looks a little goofy, I'm more interested in the price and what's inside, both of which appeal to me
And certainly one of the most innovative and distinct. I'm surprised there aren't more fighting games in the style of gameplay. Fun for all
As much as I'd love a new Metroid or IP from Retro I have to respect Retro's decision as a developer
I would like to point out that Bayonetta 2 and "X" are fairly ambitious. And who doesn't like Smash?
