Whilst also with a disc, I'll get to watch the movie again and again and again......
I don't even have to watch it in one day either.
Downloads will be great for some but wanting to build up a collection of movies is presently impossible with DRM and the limitation of hard drive space.
I didnt buy a 1080p TV to watch a 720p, nearly there but not quite, quality movie.
This is marketing at work and its pretty much like the mainstream news. If ...
You have to look at it as a company would look at it financially.
Lets use Civil aircraft as an example.
Airlines look at the costs of fixing a fleet of planes compared to the costs of paying out for the deaths of people, on the chance one does crash.
If it costs more to fix the fleet than the possibility of one crashing, they'll let you die because its cheaper.
Its a drastic example but thats how MS would view it. Is it cheaper to replace than fix ...
Well my release version 360 died at Xmas but I've got a new one and its only crashed about 3 times since but thats the games.
They'll know that next time, they should make sure the console is ready and tested properly instead of rushing it out to steal the market.
It wouldnt surprise me if the 17 million console sales are actually 12 million with 5 million replacements. Chuckle.
Still I've spent more money on my 360 so far compared to my PS3, the only one ...
I do need to point out a fact that they did not mention which year.
In the UK our Blu-ray discs are usually £18/$36 or about £24/$48. This is why my collection is very small and is unlikely to get bigger until they stop taking the p1ss when it comes to pricing.
The maximum I should be paying is about £15/$30 and I would accept that, although knocking a third off that price would make me buy even more.
We have VAT at 17.5% so we're unlikely to get the same decrease, plus its rip off Britain, so I'm not expecting much.
So lets ask this guy how many he's downloaded so far.
A list of reasons why downloads would be bad.
1. The idea of some software being in control of my content. I.e. how long for and if I can watch it.
2. Software that could be written by Microsoft would scare the sh1t out of me. Lets sit down to watch a movie and your DRM's go all wonkey.
3. No discs to look at, booklets, etc. The satisfaction of admiring them sometimes adds the ple...
My 360 died this Xmas and was a launch machine which was played virtually every night for those 2 years. It had a good innings and considering the amount of RROD's, I was pleased that it had.
Kind of bad timing though because it was the 23rd, so the next day I had to go buy an Arcade but at least I have HDMI out now.
The other machine took about 7 days which was fine with me.
I own both with having the drive for my 360 and also owning the PS3.
I prefer the blu ray because its quiet compared to having the 360 on and I know others that agree.
I'd say that in the UK people don't really understand the formats as much and don't want to yet because of the price. When we're expected to pay £25/$50 per disc, then others are going to sit it out and wait for them to drop.
The HD market is kind of killing itself in the UK because as per usua...
Where the four king hell is Rez?
Edit: Ah its looking like the 30th January, fingers crossed.
Yes your memories of the game may be so but like most old games that we loved, you go back to play it and find its a bag of turd.
Then we refuse to accept the newer version, sometimes on principal.
I used to think Wipeout 1 was so realisitic and a superb game, in fact it was but when I play it now, its like the new Star Wars movies compared to the originals.
I will check out Turok tonight when I also check to see if they have bothered to put Rez HD on the ...
Fifa mostly sells well because of the official names. Some people love it, some people choose to ignore the bad bits of it.
Me, I'm a PES lover but feel that its getting worse rather than better.
Everyone of these games on the list has been well marketed. I can remember each ones TV advert. The fact that I've bought them as well helps that but it reflects the UK sector.
This is definitely going over the line of bonkers for size and overall ott.
The power supply companies would love you and you'd have environmentalists at your door wondering why you have no ozone layer above your house.
I thought the Voodoo 6000 was bad.
Bloomin eck, if thats specific, I'd hate to see a guestimation.
"Yeah we're not quite sure but we're looking at a possible release in the 21st century"
Then when it gets to Q1 it will either be classed as a typo or the very last day of that quarter.
Cynically yours

I own the 360 version and before I saw which was labelled which, I thought the supposed PS3 shot was the 360 one.
I was only playing it about 45 minutes ago and was looking over the graphics as this game always makes you do.
Hmm.
Trouble is with China, one guy has allegedly copied it and that means as we speak, about 5 workers are walking out the back door to make the Vi, Vii plus, Widi the Vii Deluxe and the Wivi.
Remember, the allegedly is for legal reasons.
If they want to look at bad games they should go back to the 20th century ones. The old games were sometimes insanely hard or completely impossible to beat.
Then you find out the reasons why are that some games never reached complete development and there wasnt an ending, so they made it that you couldnt get to the end because there wasnt one.
Just one of many ways publishers forced cr@p out the door, saving themselves money and into our hands. You think EA are bad these...
I agree with you guys about the age ratings. This is a big problem in my eyes, when I see parents buying their 10 year old kids GTA or Resident Evil.
I say to them "you do know age ratings are not just for movies?". I've even had comments from some parents who say things like "He was playing a game the other day and the language was disgusting" erm hello is there anybody home?
The problem with the world today is that it is always someone elses fault, ...
Then again, arent you making the matter worse by giving them attention?
Me personally, I couldnt give a flying 4k whether people call me names in a game. Ignorance can be bliss and especially if they know you're not bothered by it.
The other thing to do is either kick them out of the game or not join their game.
The people who complain about the name calling can be just as bad as the ones calling people.
My answer, be gay but you don't have to tell...
"Gays are still human beings"? C'mon dude, what the heck did you think they were before? Alien?
All this 'I'm gay and need to tell you' idea is problematic from the start. I mean, so what, you're gay (obviously I'm speaking rhetorically, not directly). I'm not really bothered if you are into bestiality, thats your business but to come on and tell people is obviously asking to be abused.
We have to accept in life that there are other people out there wh...
How many more times is this DLC rubbish going to be plugged on sites like this?
Blimey they really are laying out the money for stooges to roll out their plan.
Yes the DLC is generally a third of the price of a disc but my disc wont delete itself in two weeks or after 24 hours.
This for me is a no-brainer.
