My 40" 1080p Bravia is setup with a slight deviation from the profiled settings on one. It doesn't look too vivid and bright but pretty much perfect.
Owners tend to set up their Bravias so its all vivid and over contrastic to enhance that HD effect. This is all wrong because once you get the settings right, the variety of colours and depths of blacks look fantastic.
Mine is the 40W4000 and if you fancy trying out my settings PM me.
I pre-ordered my copy because where I shop they always send them out early so being in the UK, I would have got it Thursday.
Instead it got messed up in the mail and I will have to report it missing on Monday and wait till Tuesday for it.
Unfortunately I can't get one from the shops and take the other back because its the limited edition.
Ah well {cries more}
It's a good demo really, not too much and not of Heavenly Sword proportions either. Nice graphics and gets you into it pretty easily.
The sensitivity needs turning up and the controls are a bit different.
I'm going back to it now, cheerio.
I'd say the venom towards the PS3 has been of a high amount even from before the delay of release a few years back.
I have all the consoles, the Wii is gathering dust whilst my PS3 and 360 get played virtually every night. I love both consoles and I did favour the PS3 desktop but the 360, even though it was made to be a b1t childish, is now easier to access.
I prefer certain games on the 360 and others on the PS3, having both means I get both exclusives.
There are...
Yes failing to mention that the ability to download movies involves an upfront membership fee. Like most shops make you pay for a membership before they let you buy a game or a blu-ray.
Errr nope. Then don't forget you must also pay for the fastest broadband package if you want to watch the movie this side of Xmas 09.
A lot of my friends have 360's. The very same people now have PS3's and use them more because its free to play online.
The hard drive coming with it also helps, due to the flexibility too.
They want to store movies and music.
I know my 360 has some of this too but the PS3 is a clearer and easier format for them.
I still love both consoles but my Wii now gathers dust just like a lot of my friends Wii's are.
This year has been a lot of fun for driving games. I've enjoyed Burnout Paradise, PGR4 and Grid. Each had me hooked to my machine for ages and was a blast at doing so.
I can't agree with these Grid negative comments. When I first played it, I hated it and wasnt going to buy it.
Then I gave the demo more time and I realised it was just hard to get used to but it made me buy the game. It was one of the best games I've played this year, the variety and adrenilin pumped races like P...
This happened to me, well sort of, last Xmas. It was on the 23rd of December my machine croaked it and I had loads of games to play for my xmas break.
I ended up getting it picked up and buying a new one to keep me going and then sold the other when it came back.
Fortunately my newer version has the hdmi because the other was a release model.
Once this 'credit crunch' comes to an end, we'll be left with 1 shop for retail sector. Thus resulting in full RRP for everything, like HMV do anyway.
"Save £10 now only £25 for your DVD movies or only £29.99 for Blu-ray, games will be £45, in the sale."
Straight after all those parents have forked out the cash for the higher priced one for xmas.
I've used shopto for some time now and they're my pick for online shopping because generally they are the cheapest.
I recently got Tomb Raider and Motorstorm 2 for £24 and £25.
Next day delivery for free and good service regarding new releases.
As long as they don't pull this years trick by releasing all of the big budget games within a few weeks of each other. I own a shedload of new titles but only have so many hours to play them in.
I know people who are only buying maybe 1 or 2 games out of this season and quite a few big titles are languishing in the sales figures.
If they spaced them out a bit better, sales would be up. Nevermind the credit issues, people still play games to escape, so they'll still get b...
The best way to normally test a product or demo, is to preferably (for the company) to hit the smaller base of users first.
Imagine releasing a product or demo which isn't quite ready or may have issues.
Either that or $$$$$$ cha ching works for Microsoft. Wouldn't be the first time would it?
It would lead to less sales of new games rather than more. Most people who trade games, buy them with the view to trade them in after completion. If we can't trade them, then its more likely we'll rent or buy fewer and be more picky because we have to keep them.
I do think that the shops are the guilty ones by making big profits on 2nd hand games. I think it is they who should be responsible for passing on money to the publishers.
I'd have to say Lara Croft.
The amount of subliminal groans'n'moans that lady has, it makes you wonder whether it should be called 'Tomb' raider.
Its not a mii, its a mixture. I now call the dashboard my WiiS3.
The miis, the icons, although p155 taking apart it looks nice, is fast and much better in my opinion.
The only problems for me so far are that some areas won't connect to the marketplace but you can from other areas. I always get a time out and an error code but I'm sure they'll sort it soon.
HDTV's offer more in every aspect compared to SDTV. Sound, colour, brightness, sharpness and bigger sizes. Then there is the energy side with less power usage, less bulk and better looking.
Now we have the sensible reasons why people should come and join the 'next stage' club. Those who can afford it, have already got a HDTV and are enjoying them without looking back.
The costs of everything when they're new is more, thats always been the case with virtually anything. I ...
Yeah why should we play on Xbox 360's or PS3's when we still have our PS2's and the old Xbox?
I can see where you are coming from but I can't agree regarding your opinion.
Blu-ray is a step forward, maybe not in the same sense as DVD with the scenes and jumping to certain points but it is still a welcomed much improved format.
The picture is more than slightly better, its far better than you're willing to accept. Normal SD TV's and DVD's look blurry and you can tell where...
Do I care? Do Bears sh1t in the woods?
I've just finished this game and loved it. Tense, adrenalin pumped moments, panicky moments but overall a good quality game, so of course I care. Reminded me of Bioshock mixed with Resident Evil and deserves better sales than it is getting.
At the end of the day what really matters if whether YOU enjoyed it, nevermind someone elses opinion.
I'm enjoying it so far with the odd gripe but virtually every game has some. I generally take my opinion as the best one for deciding games and such thank you very much.
