What makes me laugh is that generally the people like this who complain about GTA and the like, are generally the ones with the strangest fetishes anyway.
I can bet that this guy dresses in womens clothes or likes to treated like a slave, with gimp mask an all.
You will probably find that the next game won't cost as much with this initial outlay on creating the game engine.
After that, for further GTA's of this generation (Bully 2 anyone?), will only require tweaks. Then you have the return from potential licensees for using the game engine for their own developments.

I can tell I'm not a hardcore gamer anymore because I'm an old skool hardcore gamer. I don't buy the game guide with the game, so I don't know where all the health packs are, or I don't beat the game within 5 hours and then complain about it being easy. Using a guide or walkthrough tends to make it easy, somehow.

It is a bit obvious why Sony are trying to please the American market. They have to convince people to buy one whereas us in Europe just buy one anyway. I have to admit though, in the space of 2 games purchased for the PS3, I have bought over 20 games ...
Well we know the testing and development at Microsoft is about a year and Sony take about 10 years. Microsofts new console will be downloadable and Sonys will have some new format they're trying to plug.
I think we should enjoy the PS3 and the 360 for a while yet.

Intel have got the experience though and a bit more variance than ole nvidia.
I'm an old skool 3dfx fanboy and loved the forums until they vanished and left me having to switch over to nvidia. I, like many, was gutted about that.
Its not the amount of games sold to PS3 or 360 which is being focussed on, its more to do with how many consoles will be sold because of it.
The PS3 is presently about 6.5 million consoles behind MS who had an 11 million lead. What will the figures tell us in June?
Well I've bought more games for my 360 than I have my PS3 so far but I've also owned a 360 longer.
I've ordered a PS3 edition because,
1. I can get it cheaper on that format.
2. I prefer the PS3 remote for this type of game.
3. I want to play my friends online who also own PS3's.
4. Just because ok.
5. I'm not really bothered about extra content.
At the price they're going to throw it out at in the UK then they can keep my copy. I guess I won't be playing this game yet afterall until they stop taking the urine.

If you think the 360 has an RROD problem, the Game gear was just as bad. My god I exchanged so many of them bloody things when I worked at Toys R Us years ago.
They seemed to be made out of glass parts because the slightest bang and they would die. Nearly everyone that I knew had one, had experienced a broken one.

You know, I'd not bought a game for my Wii since Galaxy came out,
so I decided to treat myself. I went out and bought Barbie Island Princess for my girls, the smiles on their faces for that half an hour was great until they got bored of swinging the pad in the same way for every mini-game.
Nintendo have hit the market with a successful approach but it wasnt really intended for the hardcore gamer so those of us have to get over it.

Each to their own I guess but I can see people being a bit let down by this game. What else can it offer that is new? Time will tell but it could be another Halo 3 and people stil fondle themselves over that.
