The only way Little Big Planet will get owned my Microsoft is if they buy Sony.

Yeah finally positive articles for a change.

I must say regarding calibration, I've got my PS3 going to my Sony 40W4000 which is calibrated.
It looks so clear, detailed, the colours are perfect.
People fall in this trap of turning up all the brightness and contrast so the colours look over done.
My latest favourites are the Hulk, Horton hears a who? and Iron Man.

Anyone that watches the Hulk and doesn't thing Blu ray is any better, should ser...

David Jessen, Disney vice president of Blu-ray and DVD creative production said only the other day "It's right on the verge of becoming really big in the U.S., where in two years Blu-ray will eclipse DVDs."

Hmm I wonder which company is financing this campaign to kill blu ray? A familiar one certainly has crossed my mind.

It is beginning to sound desperate.

480p/720p = No thanks
DRM = No thanks
Reliant on a decent internet connection or servers not down = No thanks.
Upscaled DVDs = Hahaha uncontrollably

For me, the proof is in the pudding. I will read other opinions but its mine that matters most to me.

Wow a new handheld by Nintendo! Then I can play an updated version of every Mario game whilst also learning how to cook, playing with my virtual dog.

Yes 'Soccer' is boring. I'd rather play a 30 minute game broken up over 4 hours and constantly wait for a few seconds of 'thrills'.

SO WRONG!

I've read some reviews recently saying it's nothing new and typical Wipeout. Well duh, of course, we don't always want attempts at breaking new mould, sometimes a safe bet of the best of it, is exactly what a gamer can desire.

This game looks absolutely gorgeous on 1080p and sounds great with full surround sound. I love all of the game, even though I've played these tracks before and I'm well used to the gaming, it still hits the mark.

My favourite is now Zone. H...

The world as WE know it is going to end in 2012 but we'll go to another world or dimension. One where Blu-ray has failed and families sit at the TV to watch a movie but have to wait 8 hours to download a 'not quite full HD' version and the kids go to bed at 5am when its finished.

There is a real campaign out there with some real marketing going on but they don't realise. I'LL DECIDE if I want to kill my blu-ray, not them.

I lost 70 pounds when I got mine, well 69.99 pounds to be exact.

Marketing propaganda.

Every month there is a new one but unfortunately there is a majority that wants to control what we own and rely on a disc than a hard drive.

My net connection is 20mb and it generally can get about 1.9mb speeds. These guys fail to understand that a lot of isps now cap certain lines or you have to pay a fortune for it not to be. This again alienates a market because the majority wont pay high broadband and then a movie.

I don't see the point of releasing this kind of technology yet when the present TV manufacturers are struggling to make this generation.
Anyone that has a 1080p new generation TV will notice issues with any of the makes that are out there.
Samsung has stutter, humbar and 24hz issues, Philips with blurring, Sony with having 3 lines across the screen, etc.
The 100hz generation has been pathetic to say the least and they still havent perfected Blacks on LCD.

Yet more Microsoft marketing spiel trying to convince you to believe anything they say.

Blu ray player in the UK at £150 ($300) at Comet or Currys. Taking into account the usual suspects for us in the UK paying more, this price is like $75-100 in the US.

Cheap and not reliant on having broadband.

I liked the PS3 trying to be PS2 type graphics but the steering finally made me turn it off.
The sensitivity was weird, like you're partially in control but not, depending on how the game felt.
Getting hit off line and then struggling to control the car back to normality.

Thumbs down so far but if they sorted the steering out I'd be interested in it, I want to like it.

What do I need a mobile/cell phone for when my house phone is just fine?
What do I need a new car for, when my present one is perfectly normal?
There isnt any difference between Xbox and Xbox 360 or PS2 and PS3 (I can't use Gamecube and Wii because that would be true).

These comments are just as bs as the ones saying no real improvement from DVD to HD or why would we want HD. Are you guys for real? Some people own a Ferrari, some of us don't but I don't see them s...

Yes because I really want someone in control of my media.
Stop pandering to Microsofts wishes people, digital downloads are ok but have mp3 online sales overtaken CD's?

I want physical media and no amount of corporate marketing in any way shape or form, that is continually being plugged on sites like this, is going to convince me otherwise.
I don't want to be told what I'm going to be doing in years to come, I want to be given a choice and right now thats true 1...

I think this is an ingeneous way of trying to prevent sales on your competitors system. If you leak rumours, spread them about that the 360 will get a BR it will sway some people from buying a PS3 with the option that it also plays BR movies.
I'm sure in some minds now, people are looking at the useful aspect of the PS3 being able to play HD movies as well as games. If you have 2 consoles that are hard to split apart then the PS3 is going to be benefitting from having a BR drive.

I agree with you guys on this. The Wii sells very well into the casual gamer market and I know a lot of people that own one. The typical person that isnt interested in gaming has been brought into the game industry. They will want to play the games, some people will then want more and will look at the kind of games that are on the PS3/360.
Some hardcore gamers do not like the Wii because its everything they wouldnt want but for me i think it helps broaden the market and raise the numbe...

Worn hard drive? I've hardly used my PS3 since I bought it last year.
This was going to be the first game that I was going to play some serious hours on. Unfortunately I can't even play for 30 minutes without it locking up halfway through a mission.

Very annoying. You know since this generation came out, game stability, bugs, etc have been rubbish. 'We'll patch it later' It aint a PC but it suffers from the 'overly confusing amount of extras thus leading to overly softwa...
