I agree. however the only thing that I dont like about Nintendo is that its revolves too much around Mario and Pokemon for their first party games. I mean Monster Hunter was a good break from Mario and Pokemon but thats not a first party game.
Sony first party studios will definite do better as the years go by. Developers will understand how to fully use the PS5 at its full potential. Just look at what Sony first studios did for the PS4 near the end before the PS5 was released.
People like to down play Sony because Sony have set the bar very high for themselves last gen. Many naysayers dont believe that Sony can actually top what they've done with PS4 with the current Gen. From the looks of things, Sony is already meeting expectations (maybe exceeding it) within the first year of the PS5 release.

It did hindered the number of PS5 that could have been produced. Remember, Sony did announced that the chips that they depend on had issues with supplies. So that limit the number of PS5 that can be made.

Fun fact: in 1983, Kung Fu was released for the NES and retailed for $40. The game can be easily beaten in under 20 minutes. Think about that before you start complaining that games today cost too much. You honestly think that developers shouldnt raise their games to meeting the rate of inflation?

This is a good price. But you can probably find it a bit cheaper. i have subscription until 2024. Bought it when it was around $26 per year.

If they going to have Gold and Gamepass, why dont they just join them together and call it "GoldPass". Raise the price a bit and give the fan both for a single subscription.
I think Sony would benefit too if they combined PSNow and PS +, call it NowPlus. We live in a digital world with bunch of subscriptions. We dont need multiple subscriptions for the same company.

Im ok with Sony "Timed Exclusives" games being released on other platforms as long as Sony consoles owners have first crack at it for a period of time. The more people who get to play some great AAA games, the better for the developers. Developers should be rewarded for making great AAA games. I just dont like the fact that Call of duty, Madden, battlefield, etc are raking in the money year after year when those games are pretty much the same games with some updates.
How is the series x a better value? So you buy a $500 console to subscribe to game pass so you can play games?
With game pass, why would you buy a $500 console. Why not use your current laptop or pc?
The pandemic caused a shortage of chips that are used for the next gen consoles. This caused the reduction of how many consoles can be produce. So yes, the Pandemic did have an indirect impact on the sales of these consoles.
