Nice logic there but you fail to forget the average will also just buy the current gen ones they're not going to drop £429/$500 for new hardware.
That's rather interesting I was thinking more the Wii U due the Nintendo games appealing more to kids and touch controls.
Are there any games coming out in 2013 on XB1 that will appeal to kids and is rated for them because the only thing I see kids liking about the XB1 is playing around with the kinect.
Good for MS though it's sure to get some extra sales.

The thing is who is most likely to buy a console at launch or willing to stay up late to hear the news on new hardware and watch conferences.... They are obviously going to appeal more to gamers leading on to launch because they are primary people that are passionate about new hardware to buy it at launch no matter the cost.
I personally think XB1 is a great console but it doesn't personally appeal to me in terms of the extra features like kinect/tv. And if the 3+ years ...

I don't say Sony weren't but it's not their primary focus looking at their reveal. When you first introduce a product you're immediately targeting an audience and showing your focus for your product Sony was targeting games while MS was more of a entertainment(TV)/kinect interaction focus. 80%+ of their reveal of about TV/kinect and only games mentioned were sports games and COD and a bit of Forza 5.
Not surprising as their reveal was an indication of what their primary focus is going to be going forward.

The thing that I find annoying and misleading with MS atm is that it takes so long to clarify stuff.... It took Aaron 3 days to clarify Ryse was 900p. Why!?
They let something run for some time then later clarify like the Fifa solution which was very misleading.

It's a hands-on preview of the hardware for the public why do they need to send a devkit for that if they are just loaning to show off how the hardware looks. They aren't playing games. MS did the same with so news outlets as well. What's the issue here?

In an ideal world we would want both to complement each component well. However next-gen consoles are using an APU and just like on the PC it uses one type of ram DRR3 exception being with the XB1 using ESram for bandwidth needs.
